Support Groups or People in Beaumont TX?

Recommended Posts

Hey,

I am a few weeks pre-gastric sleeve surgery and looking for support groups in the Beaumont Tx area or talk with anyone locally that is planning or has gone through bariatric surgery? Any help or advice would be appreciated.

I live in the Beaumont area :) had mine 10 months ago and have lost 57. I have had virtually no problems and am very happy with the surgery. I still need to lose 15-20 more but I'm sure this part will take the longest.

Thanks for the reply. I am both nervous and exicited about my upcoming surgery. And I had a small panic attack today when I thought about "not being fat" in the future. Have you had these feelilngs?

It is different, that's for sure. Kind of irritating in a weird way how strangers men and women actually TALK to you and try to engage you in a conversation. Also how men will hold the door for me now...I'm thinking you weren't HOLDING the door for me 57# ago! I'm sure I will get over this irritated phase and actually it's better the past couple of months. There is definatly a mental component but it's not anything major for me atleast. I never really SAW myself as that big or big as I was until I look back NOW at pics from last year and think DAMN I was pretty big.... so I guess that's why I wasn't scared to lose the weight.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
