8 days post op and completely anxious and depressed. This I know shall pass but has been the worst experience to date. All I do is cry and want to stay in bed. I feel so overwhelmed like I can't get all the Protein in in one day and I can't get all the Calcium in etc. I'm just so frustrated. Anyone else in the same boat??

No, I'm not in the same boat, but can offer a little advise. I'm out 3 + years and i WAS like that. All I can say is this, do the best you can. This surgery isn't cookie cutter for everyone. everyone is different. What I can do, you may not be able to do, as what you can do, I may not be able to do. Just do the best you can. The beginning is hard, you have to retrain yourself and your tummy is still swollen and hurt, heavens you can't stick everything down there! Good luck, just sip to your comfort, don't overdo.

Hi! I am 3 weeks out today, I know exactly what you're feeling, it's our crazy hormones going wild. I go on walks just to get out of my environment and obsession about what my liquid intake is today. Also, I don't really time myself i just give myself a small goal like finishing one shake, and one slim fast by 3 in the afternoon. Best of luck!

Hormonal fluctuations are so frustrating....

Your anxiety and depression are related to thoughts that your having that trigger fear in you.

So catch the negative thoughts and then challenge them to change them.....

You can do this! :)

I was sleeved on Dec 3--I guess that's also 8 days out if that's how you're counting it. I'm doing fine with my liquids and Proteins. Not doing as much walking as I should though. I'm tired. I also feel cranky, it started yesterday and it might have to do with the hormones or just the monatomey of the same old, same old routine. Can you get out of the house? Maybe a change of scenery will help. I'm going back to work tomorrow and looking forward to it in one way and not so much in another. I guess I'll take my shake with me and a water bottle. HUGS It'll get better.

I was not happy nor feeling good at 8 days. Now I am 3 months out and am thrilled with the weight loss. You will be too soon, 14 days out is much much better. And what you can't get down do not worry. My doc said "don't worry about Vitamins til a month out, this is not for a month, it is a lifetime.". That helped me calm down.

I don't know how many times I stalled. The one thing I know for sure is that scale will keep moving down. For every person who seems to be losing weight so fast and steady there are twenty people complaining about stalls.

When you are six months out and have lost 50 or 60lbs, those stalls feel like nothing at all. By then, you will know first hand that stalls happen, and you just keeping doing what is right and let them pass.

At 8 days out, I wasn't getting in enough Protein either. I did the best I could. Each week I tried to get in a little more protein. Nothing bad is going to happen if you can't get it all in every single day. It is bad if you don't try.

This. Doc said even if I *ingested* all the protein I was supposed to I probably wasn't absorbing it right away. Protein was less important than Water - drink your Water, because dehydration is just about the worst thing you can do to yourself right now. But protein, Vitamins will come when you are ready.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
