Anyone experience this?

I was sleeved Nov 12. Did really good for the first 2 weeks. Advanced per orders to soft. Couldn't keep anything down and slimed a lot. Regressed back to full liquids/pudding and I am so miserably full. I ate 3 small bites a scrambled egg and was full to the top. I drank some broth just now and it didn't stay down. I can't even force fluids like I need to. I was in the ER yesterday for a kidney stone and I don't know if I am just sick from all of that or what! Getting aggravated that I can't drink water! Anyone else go through this almost a month out????

I STILL can't drink Water and I am 6 months out. What helps me is my morning smoothie. I blend a lot of ice in it. I drink it all day and it gets my fluids in.

Have you tried contacting your surgeon or nurse about these problems?

I was sleeved on 11/8 and had to go back in last Monday to get an endoscopy to stretch my stomach. I still get full after 2-3 bites. I'm eating 1 meal per day and drinking Protein drinks and Water through the day. I'm not supposed to be eating much yet anyway. 6 weeks is when I can start eating.

The difficulty was that semi-solids (mashed potato, cream of wheat, thick soups) were getting stuck, and most times if I ate sitting down I'd get stuck and slime/vomit.

I'm still eating slowly and doing lots of Soup and other soft things.

Call your surgeon, get a swallow test, maybe ask about an endoscopy.

Good luck!

I thought it was impossible to stretch your stomach

How did they do it?

My mom

Is going to get that done in 3 wks... If it doesn't work they have to do a revision to gastric bypass. She ended up having too much scar tissue and didn't leave enough room for her to eat properly

There is a little part of me that wishes I could get my stomach stretched just a bit. I can only eat 1 oz of anything. Lot of slimes. This is so much harder than any diet I have ever tried in my life. Just praying that it will be worth it in the end.

I couldn't imagine being able to eat one ounce of anything... I was sleeved November 12 and can eat about 3-5 oz, depending on how dense it is

No idea - I was under sedation. I don't believe it involved cutting though. :)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
