Does Anyone Make Yogurt @ Home?

Recommended Posts

I just bought a Euro Cuisine Automatic Yogurt maker. I have read, that Greek Yogurt has more Protein in it than regular yogurt. Does anyone know how I can make Greek yogurt????? The yogurt maker I bought doesn't really have any recipes to help me. Im new at this so im not even sure how to figure out the nutrition info like calories, carbs, protein, etc. once I make it. If anyone can please help me out with this I would be forever thankful. Thanks in advance for reading my post.

I tried to figure it out as well. The only thing that I found online was that after making the yogurt you were to let it strain in a cheese cloth to concentrate it. Not sure if it works or how it would increase the Protein content. I gave up and just bought the commercial greek yogurts. Hope you find what you are looking for. I enjoyed home made yogurt but wanted the increased protein of greek.

Greek is just the concentrated form,, so when you strain home made yogurt the concentrated Protein

will be left in the cloth after the watery part is strained away, hence more protein. My Nut said, home made yogurt is as good -- infact better, because we can make plain yogurt & mix whatever we wish to have with it at that very moment - wether its vanilla; fruit extract or just pepper.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
