7 Week Post Opt And Struggling To Eat....

Recommended Posts

I am on my 7th week pot opt and still unable to eat. I am OK with Water (cold) and suffering with everything else - Protein Drinks, Vitamins, food. Everything tastes horrible, and even Jello sits in my stomach like a rock. I even developed kidney stones. Anyone have any similar problems.

I will be glad to hear answers too. I had surgery 9/19 so I am over two months out. The only thing that taste good are things with sharper flavors such as cheese, green olives, pickles, balsamic vinegar for salads, certain vegetables.

I don't crave sweets which is good, but the Protein foods taste flavorless. I don't enjoy eating anymore and only do it because we have to eat. I thought I would enjoy meat, but that doesn't appeal either so I have no desire for home cooked meals with meat and definitely not fast food. Running out of ideas aside from vegetables.

I haven't had kidney stones but I'm right there with you on the eating. I have to force the Protein Shakes down just to get in the Protein I need. But I don't look forward to eating anymore either. Maybe it's because before surgery I just ate what ever and how ever much I wanted and now we can't do that, we have to be more mindful of what we put in our mouths so that we do get in the things we need. But this is the choice that I made and I am going to do what ever it takes to make it sucessful. I am tired of being over weight and not being able to do what I want not to mention that I have finally found my true love and want to be around a long time to spend with him. So keep your heads up ladies and keep trying. We can do this!!!! No one said it would be easy  , just worth it.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
