I had my original WLS in Jan. 2005 & a revision on 8/21/2006. The revision was an open surgery and I have a 6 inch scar down the middle of my tummy. The doc had to remove about 1.5 lbs of scar tissue just to get to the band to repair it and replace the port. To say that I was in pain is an understatement.

I took a full two weeks off before returning to work and the first two weeks back at work, I worked from home, in my long sleep shirts and socks - it was all the clothes I could get on my body - I was so swollen and bloated.

I am incredibly blessed to have been able to work from home for a full two weeks (and 2 or 3 days a week ongoing). I totally needed that time to recuperate. Please, take all the time you need, even if it means putting off a car payment (w/an extension from the lender of course) or borrowing money from your 401(k) ... whatever it takes. It's your health! If you don't heal properly, you won't be able to fully participate in your own weight loss to the fullest extent possible and that would be such a shame!

Just depends on you level of pain tolerance. Personally, I had the surgery on a Thursday, and was back at work on the following Monday. No lifting, but full duty, lots of walking, sitting, etc. I was pretty tired the first couple days back at work, but felt fine by the following Monday.

I had surgery on Monday and returned to work the next Monday. I was a little sore in the port area but other than that I was fine. I work at a health center as a med tech. so I am on my feet all day. Overall, it was not a bad experience.:nervous

My surgery is scheduled for a Monday and I'm going back to work the following Monday. I'm on a temporary work assignment that is primarily desk work tho so I think that'll be plenty'o time.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
