**i Need Your Support**

Recommended Posts

Hi All!!!! I officially start my pre-op diet tomorrow! I have come so long to get to this point... I know most of you have already gone over this hump so I need some advice for a person that loves food. I am able to have 2 shakes during the day and have a piece of Protein ( chicken, fish or steak) and some veggies for dinner. Can someone share some ideas w/ me on what to have for dinner...? Some reipes and also what helped you through this process.

I'm looking ahead and can see myself running in the Spring and positive life changes, but I just wanted to reach out to you all. I read everyday on this forum as if it's my 'New Facebook" LOL!!!! The feedback and thinks that I have learned and the before and after pictures are things that I love about it. Thank you so much in advance!! OH!!! My bday is on Monday too- The big 3-2!

~Leah

First of all, CONGRATS!!! We will all be here with you on your journey towards a happier, healthier life. Personally, I am almost 3 mos out. I would suggest eating as healthy as you can....such as Van de Kamp's parchment baked tilapia, halibut, or salmon, along with a healthy vegetable. The fish is easy to cook & tasted great! Anyway, best of luck and I know you'll do GREAT!

Yes, I am all cleared. I am out 9 1/2 weeks and down 33 pounds. 10 Was preop. It is not as fast as I thought it would be but I am still happy. I do not eat as well as I should and I do not exerccise. I am working on that though.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
