I can keep liquid pain meds down but I have to sip it not take it like I normally would. I am however having trouble w my liquids. Everytime I drink something- broth, Water, crystal light- it makes my stomach cramp really bad. The first day on clears I only took in 10oz.

I'm in the hospital two days post-op. Overall I feel okay but i'm having difficulty keeping my liquid pain meds down. I've kept down juice' date=' Water, and a popsicle but I can't seem to handle the oral pain meds so I've vomited three times. I'm hoping to go home tomorrow but I don't know if that will be possible if I can't tolerate the pain meds :(

Going to bed for the night. I'm hoping for day 3 to be a turn-around day like everyone says. Fingers crossed![/quote']

Yea,

Hoping its a better day. Today. You can do it. For the team.

Day 3 post op...That train came thru again and hit me last night again! My 2 Great Danes know something is wrong, and because my husband worked overnight last night, they were with me on the bed, and couldn't understand that their heads were to heavy to rest and snuggle on my belly!! I'm having a hard time being compliant with my blood pressure med, just the thought of tasting it crushed, gags me. So glad my Dr. ok'd to stop taking my cholesterol ones!! Other than stomach, shoulders, neck and my whole lower back in pain when I move... I'm doing great! lol Sipping the recommended 48-64 oz's of liquids, and not needing the Pepcid AC. Everyone take care... And know you are not alone! Now to try and let the Danes in... Ugh... lol

Yes they did the single incision and I love it! All of the nurses were very impressed! Dr. Guske really is a genius!

How was your pain with the single incision? I'm going tomorrow for single incision at 1230! I'm freaking out about the pain. Did you bruise at all?

I had single incision as well and Ive had my gall bladder out and had multiple incisions so I know the difference and its big. My incision really didnt hurt. It was more the soreness in the actual tummy. No bruising, not even from the blood thinner shots that they warned me might bruise me.

I agree with bunny. I hardly had any incision pain, only pain on the inside. I stopped the pain meds on day 4 or 5, can't remember. I did get a few bruises from the shots but nothing serious.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
