Hi Jenn, sweetie, this must be such a bittersweet time for you. I am so sorry about you and your husband. My husband left me back in '99 and I thought my world had come to an end. But, it had only actually just begun as it gave me a whole new life and I found a wonderful new man. You mentioned your mother-in-law will be there for you tomorrow, that is so sweet that she is still standing by you and there for you. Everything will go just fine and I am sure you will feel so much better once the surgery is over, your band is in, and you have begun the healing process, both physically and emotionally. My thoughts are with you. Please let us know how everything goes.

Sorry to hear about the husband I do believe everything happens for a reason so keep your head up and I wish you the best! We're October newbie sisters:whoo:

Keep us posted on your progress and good luck tomorrow:gluck: !

Oh by the way, I had been joking for months b4 surgery that "I'm bringing Sexy Back!" and that song of course was the theme going into surgery and coming out! It made it fun so I suggest if you feel the same way take your ipod or music player & get in "Sexy" mode while jammin out

Hi Jenn. So sorry to hear about your husband, it can be so hard when things don't turn out the way you thought they would. But you have made an incredible choice for YOU and your health! I wish you much luck on your surgery tomorrow, I know you will do well. Please keep us updated on your journey.

GOOD LUCK, i think soon you will feel better about yourself as you lose the weight. i try not to rely on others to make me happy , yet look within and try to be grateful for all i have and all my blessings. i think it is hard to be married and then suddenly be single, though ive never been there or done that, but i know that women have the amazing ability to bounce back and enjoy who they are , i think we can do without men way better than they can do without us. maybe because we are very nurturing. but we can nurture ourselves. let us know how you are doing after the surgery. careful not to push it . rest. take care.

well, you're banded, you're on your way! congratulations!!! I can only imagine what all is going on with losing your husband, but just think of how great losing all your weight will be! Those first few days I found myself thinking... what have I done?... now, I just had my first fill and it is the very best decision I have ever made! I am so thankful and happy... there are hard days and great days, so... take your time, rest, walk, walk, walk... and you will be on your way!:clap2: Jana

Sorry that you're having to deal with that stressor at this time. Fortunately you'll have the support of MIL.

I had my banding about a month ago and, though it's been a rocky road at times, I know this is the best thing I have done for myself in years. I too, went through the "what have I done to myself" stage but it passed.

Keep in mind that you need to move alot after the surgery as part of your physical and emotional healing.

You have many and happy and some not so happy days ahead of you but hang in there. You are one tough cookie or you would not have decided to take this step in the first place.

Good luck to you - hope your recovery is easy breezy.:clap2:

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
