Today I sunk to a new low. I pureed a can of Dinty Moore beef stew....ha.. My doctor told me I could eat anything I could puree to the consistency of a smoothy/baby food. I ate 2oz. and it wasn't so bad. Had a couple of stomach pangs. I'm embarrassed to say some of the things I've pureed! I also experimented eating a couple of bites (chewed up well but not pureed with blender) of my sons cheese ramen noodles last night. That cheese taste was SO good. I'm just struggling to get the Protein in. It has been a little better since I started making popscicles with my Protein shake...I just mix the unjury with a smaller amount of almond milk and pour it into popscicle molds. Pretty good!

I'm 10 days out from surgery.

I just had my 1 month post-op dr. visit and can have regular food, but avoid bread! (-23 pounds, yaaaa!) On way home we stopped at Country Rotisserie, I ordered chicken, mashed potatoes and corn. Was excited to have dinner out -havent since August, and to eat non-pureed food again. 3 little bites of chicken, 2 bites potato with corn and done! The belching began (my new alarm clock-too much or too little food and it tells me, and anyone else in ear shot!) so my excitement was replaced with I guess disappointment. I know it takes time, but that feeling you get when the food fills the sleeve too high is plain disgusting! It's hard to breath, and the food doesn't want to move up or down.

I know exactly what you mean Holly! It's like the food is coming out of the top of your new 'stomach'. I've just learned to pace myself and eat really slow, that way I know that feeling I start to get when its about to do that.

the burping is is ridiculous and I haven't even started pureed foods yet (tomorrow, yeah).

do you think the problem is because the chicken dries out during microwaving? I'm so worried about doing any sliming/throwing up anywhere away from my home. Do have to scout out bathrooms everywhere I go?

AHHH! What did I do to myself?

I've had my chicken poached, roasted, bbq'd, boiled and I still burp! It's not the microwave or food being dry -for me it's chicken I'm starting to think. I do have to eat slower, lesson learned! I'm also bringing a little 1/4 cup tupperware with me to put my meal in so I know my limit. It's very hard to have a huge plate if food in front of you and you can only eat 4/5 bites! (I always "over did it" Whem we ate out post-op-another bad habit to brake!)

As far as the slime, still haven't had the pleasure but vomiting is not fun. Only once due to Tomato (in my pureed soup)you don't have time to get to a bathroom! For me, it was like a burp was coming -but no, it wasn't just air...you get the picture! I was home, thank God! So...mo tomato yet snd I need to avoid chicken. No wonder I'm fading away! :)

How long does the sliming last? I are at 8pm. It's now 4am and I still have the pain and sliming symptoms. Just three up just saliva and clear stuff, so badly wanted more to come up! Anything I can do to relieve the pain?

My first was yesterday around 2 p.m. and lasted until about 10:30. I learned my lesson the hard way. Sliming is not fun at all. Ugh, still hate thinking about it. I was really miserable.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
