What Is Your Average Caloric Intake?

I know it varies, we are all different sizes and getting in different amounts of exercise...

I was just wondering if I might be eating too much... I am two weeks post op and average 650-700 calories daily... Does that seem like too much? About 500 of those calories are from Protein shakes...

Omg I am eating 1200-1300 cals a day! I've been so depressed that I am eating a lot. But I get hungry! I'm 4 months out and my doc said eat 1000 cals but I can't function. Lol I have hit a stall for 2 wks now so I'm freaking out that maybe it's because I am eating a lot. So I'm glad to her I'm not alone!

I am two weeks post op. I take in 900 - 1200 calories a day. My concern is going in to starvation mode and reducing my already slow matabolism. So I will drink an extra shake to add calories, if needs be. I want to loose 2 lbs per week to reduce skin sagging. I'm not sure if I am off base on this but I have my post op appointment on Thurs. So hopefully, I'll get more info then.

cali4nan are you on My Fitness Pal? I love your attitude!

500 is a lot for protein shakes? I have 3 per day and they average 160-180 calories each.. I supplement the rest w broth or soup. Hmmmmmm....

As I said, that is alot for being only two weeks out............................just saying.

Thanks for sharing. Sounds like my diet pre-op :). Do you know if your doctor gave u a larger sleeve? I couldn't imagine eating that much but I'm only 4 weeks out. Btw, I thought we couldn't have popcorn !?!

I'm 3 weeks post op Thursday and I'm eating about 400-500 cals a day. Lost 23 lbs since surgery!!

This sounds like me! I can hardly eat, anything over a few bites makes me feel nausea. I'm three weeks out and losing well. I am trying to add more Protein shakes so I can keep up nutrition.

I am two weeks post op as well. I have been keeping my calories at about 600 calories but no more yet today when i weighed myself I was 2 pounds up from yesterday. Has this happened to anyone before. I am following the pureed food plan loyally and wondering what i am doing wrong.

I am not allowed any food yet.. The 500 calories is the total for all shakes combined... The shakes are supplemented with broth and Jello... I am surprised you think that is a lot with no additional "food"... My doc requires 70-80 grams of Protein a day... You were consuming less than 500 cal per day two weeks out?

My shakes are 20 grams protein and 90 calories mixed with water.

My sleeve isn't larger necessarily-- its just right in my book, I am 15 months out so Its a whole different ball game for me. I could hardly eat 2 tablespoons of anything a month out. I still feel a lot of restriction, I can only eat for example 1 slice of pizza. pre-sleeve it was 6, easy. I am very happy I can eat reasonable amounts of food!! You will see it keeps getting better!!!

Wow, my doc says no carbonation EVER! Like the rest of my life!

I am 3 weeks out and eat 700-800 calories per day. I get all my protein from food, no shakes for atleast 10 days for me.

did he say why? My surgeon says its absurd that it would stretch your sleeve-- obviously not a good idea until you're 100% healed
