  1. my recipe: I pound ground turkey browned in a pan. Add cumin, chili powder, oregano, and rosemary. I chop 1 onion (preferably sweet), green pepper and fresh garlic. Let that cook together. Then in large pot, I add meat mix, can of each: black beans, red or pinto beans and white beans. I cheat a little by using 1 large jar of Prego spaghetti sauce. I never measure, but go by taste.
  2. As frustrating as this can be, it is so good to hear other perspectives of those who been through being sleeved and have a basis of knowledge and experience. Thank you.
  3. I'm starting to wonder if I am the only person not to loose weight after being sleeved. Total from surgery, I am down 26 pounds mostly lost in the first two weeks then some over Thanksgiving day weekend. I haven't lost since then. I drink my water, protein intake at 94 grams, and eat 900-1200 calories a day ( usually closer to 900). I'm really hoping I didn't go through all of this for a 26 pound loss.
  4. I was sleeved 10/23 and lost weight the first two weeks. Been on a stall since. I just started to loose a couple lbs this weekend. I've been working on in taking more water and I upped my calories from 900 to 1200. I am 5'10. I went shopping for pants today cause I can't keep them up. I was a baggy 26 pre-op and bought loose 22s today.

  6. The Tony Horton, Beachbody has a wide variety of exercise DVDs. I have a 30 min stretch one that for me is aerobic activity. Years ago when I was more fit, I loved the P90. Depending on your fitness level, they have a DVD.
  7. Thanks for the reply. That's where I had my surgery. I'm looking for something more north.
  8. Does anyone know of any WLS support groups in or near North Sac or Roseville here in California?
  9. I would like to see an option to add or delete items from popular food items. For example, I order a Subway sandwhich. I can eat the insides but not the bread. I'd like to be able to look up the sandwhich and be able to minus the bread or cheese, etc.
  10. 23rd here too. Down 15 lbs post op, but stalled for two weeks. Had turkey, gravy, cranberries sauce and yams for dinner. Very, very small portions. I had a sliver of pumpkin pie and ate the filing. It's nice to eat small portions and not be bloated full the rest of the day.
  11. Both sad to say, I'll use yesterday's coffees for a cold one, fresh coffee for a hot one. It's good with nonfat or coconut (no sugar added) milk.
  12. Dr Oz had a recent show with Dr Andrew Weil. One segment was on stomach acid and using GDL. I'm considering taking it. http://www.doctoroz.com/videos/andrew-weil-5-health-essentials
  13. I like doing similar in my coffee in the morning except I use PB2 and sometimes the PB2 with chocolate. If I use some time of milk, I try for coconut milk. Otherwise the coffee, caffeinated or decaf, as the liquid.
  14. If you don't hear from your Dr's office, you should call them and ask them to check.
  15. My surgeon's office said it would take 2 weeks to a month. I was approved in less than a week.
  16. Thank you so much for your responses. It makes much more sense. Thank you.
  17. I'm in Highest weight: 342 Height: 5'10 Post op diet started at 318 Sleeved 10/23 weighing 303 Current weight: 285 Goal weight: 2lbs per week for 7+ weeks so 285 - 16 = 269
  18. I was sleeved on 10/23, I had no complications (knock on wood), getting my water and protein in, gas was decreasing, somewhat regular BM,, pain was steadily decreasing. However, yesterday the pain became worse and steadily increased. Today was no better and it got worse. I went in to my PCP, (who btw had bypass be same surgeon), from there I was sent to the ER (at surgeon's request). They gave me pain meds which only took the edge off the pain and conducted CT scan. They said no leak, no hernia. The CT scan was all clear. So they are thinking it is muscular pain (only hurts when I move), and sent me home with more pains meds. I am very relieved it was nothing serious; however, I am curious if anyone else has experienced anything like this?
  19. I have two separate blenders that I use: Magic Bullet - easy to clean, good to mix Protein powder and liquid, but just okay; and the blender that Montel Williams promotes, The Montel is larger and is just as difficult to clean as any regular blender. The upside to the Montel is that you can make Soups, etc. with it. When I make a Protein shake, I can add spinach and carrots or any veg to my shake with a bit of fruit, much more nutritional. Liquifies just about anything.
  20. Thank you for your post. My highest weight was 342. I was sleeved on 10/23. My goal weight is 175. Its inspiring to hear it is possible.
