  1. Hi All, So I am nearly 4 and 1/2 weeks out of surgery and down 26 lbs. (i know, so many people are losing much more). Anyhow, I was curious as to any of you have been exercising. I do the treadmill daily now for the past week and a 1/2 but really want to incorporate some abdominal exercises to get rid of what i can of the kangaroo pounch. Any advise? DeeDee
  2. That is so incredibly awesome. What is your diet like? Sharing it will help so many of us newbies. I am 4 weeks out and lost 26 lbs. I am hoping that by my birthday, in Feb., the hubby and I can go somewhere special and I want to look fabulous.
  3. Hi, My weight loss was a little slow as well. I am out of surgery one month this past 11/25. I lost 24 lbs. Not bad and i am not complaining but I learned if you do not exercise, it does not come off as easily. It will though so don't get yourself down. I did stall midway for like 8 days after only 12 lbs lost. It happens but does not last. Deidre

I am ten days out from surgery(10/25) and I am down 21 pounds, I feel great. I can lay on my stomach when up and aware but a sudden move in that position still feels sore. I had laparoscopic surgery. Otherwise, I am back at work already (desk job), getting up to walk around often and feel like I am making great progress. Keep pushing through. You will be fine in no time!!! Deidre
  10. I am also a couple days away. I am getting sleeved on Oct. 25. I did the same thing you did. I researched like crazy, watched youtubers that were sleeved and going throught the experience. I even had a family member that I was harassing becuase she had it done. Now..........so nervous. I trust in my surgeon. He is like the neighborhood bariatric surgeon and he has a wonderful track record but cannot help feeling like i want to pass out every time I think of the surgery. I am not afraid of the journey, I am prepared for that. i am more nervous about the surgery itself. Deidre
  11. I am on my pre diet and find that Herb-Ox Sodium Free Chicken broth is satisfying. I also drink alot of caffeine free teas, flavored like lemon or berry with some equal or splenda.
  12. Hi All, Started my liquid diet today, drinking Optifast and broth and teas in between. I had tried Opifast before as one of my weight loss options, lost alot but gained back over time once you start eating real food again. Getting sleeved October 25th. I am so nervous and anxious balled up into one. I wish everyone luck!!!
  13. Thanks everyone. Hearing so many positive thoughts really helps. I am on liquids now until surgery and it is "killing me". Any helful advice?
  14. So I am ecstatic.....I am a new member to this site and just yesterday found out that my surgery has been approved so we are moving forward with my surgery date of 10/25. I have been overweight my entire life. I have lost and gained so many times I lost count. I had recently (within the past year) come up with some health issues that can be eradicated by losing a large amount of weight. I would lose 30-40 lbs, feel great and then life punches me and I end up gaining it back. I have never felt more determined or motivated regarding my weight before this time in my life. I want to see my daughter marry, see my granchildren, my son off to college. And spend a long life with my amazing husband. I want to be able to get up in the morning and go running without feeling like I am going to pass out. I want to bike ride with my son. So happy to be getting a second chance at living healthier. Deidre
