thanks yall!¡

hey there. I had my surgery yesterday. I was so nervous too. I'm writing this from my hospital bed! look on some of the boards here. you'll see i posted about my fear everyday. this wast my first surgery. I was nervous over nothing. The waiting is the hardest part. You go in, they give you a sedative, the next thing you know you wake up in recovery. I am a little sore today, I don't want to lie. it's not pain, just a soreness. I had my surgery at 230 yesterday and I'm already feeling better. you will do great. Remember, this surgery is statistically safer than having your gallbladder out!

Congrats George Im so happy for you.

He is right, the anticipation and anxiety is pretty much worse than the surgery.

Thanks...im ready to do this..head high..and eye on the prize..uuugh

I am tempted to pull up all of the posts where you've said why you are doing this my dear :) You know what you want to accomplish and you know you can do it! Healthy fear isn't a bad thing...I think you'd have to be nuts to be going into any surgery without some nerves....so acknowledge them as fears that are real, but fears you know you've conquered in order to move forward with this big step in your life. Why are you doing this?????? Tell yourself why every time you get overly worried :)

Some people have written themselves letters to read when their nervous. The letter reminds them why they are doing this. Sounds like an awesome idea :)

I also had my surgery yesterday. I was nervous the day before. I was released at 1 pm stopped at Wal-Mart on the way home. Of all three operations I've had in the past, this was by far has been the easiest. I've not had any pain medicine. The other I needed the meds.

You wii be fine. Good luck

I felt that way this morning when I woke up. I had surgery today at 10:30. I am sorry you feel that way. I feel great now. Not looking forward to tomorrow I heard that day 2 and 3 are tough.

You will be just fine. I was a tad bit worried when they were rolling me into the operating room but by the time I got in there I didn't have time to worry because THEY KNOCKED ME RIGHT OUT!! You will wake up and not remember anything. You will have NO complications I am claiming it so it is done! Hey, we'll meet you over on the losing side ; )

I was sleeved 9/21. No regrets and will do it again. 7 weeks today and 34 down. It's so easy. I don't even miss food. When I try to cook something the aroma turns me off. Eating will never be the same but that's the point. The surgery was not painful at all like Jorge said just soreness. I stopped taking all pain meds in 24 hours. I was more so taking them from Nausea but soon realized it gave me more of that then less lol. Congradulations and welcome to the beginning of the rest of your healthy and active life :)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
