When To Try Bread

Recommended Posts

I was mourning foods for a good month and a half. I am finally at the point where I don't feel miserable after watching a pizza commercial. I still miss it, but I know that I will get sick and I did this for a reason and I am not going to ruin all that I am doing. Yes, I am sick of the same things and I am not progressing as fast as others, but slow and steady wins the race!

When you're able, if you really (REALLY) want to eat some pizza, I found a recipe on Pinterest for a Pizza Crust made from flax seed meal...the carbs are cancelled out by the Fiber content (1 for 1), and there's as much Protein in it as carbs...and it tastes YUMMY!! Put a little sauce on, and a little cheese, and whatever else you want, and eat a piece....cuz that's probably all you'll be able to eat LOL. It really is quite good, very healthy, and a GREAT option for those of us wanting the pizza experience, without the carbs and fat associated with the "real thing".

Enjoy!

Here's the recipe I used. The thinner you're able to roll/press it out, the crispier it'll be when baked.

Enjoy!! :)

The key ingredient to making this crust low carb is flax seed meal.

What you will need:

  • 1 1/2 cup of flax seed meal
  • 2 tsp of baking powder
  • 1 tsp of oregano
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1/2 tsp of Stevia or natural sweetener
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 tbs of olive oil
  • 1/2 cup of Water

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  • Mix dry ingredients together.
  • Add wet ingredients and mix well.
  • Let the dough sit for about 5 minutes to thicken up.
  • Spread dough on a large round pan. If you don't have this you can line a cookie sheet with greased parchment paper (this is what I did).
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until cooked through. Check it at the 15 minute mark and take out if it looks done.
  • Add toppings and place back into the oven to melt the cheese.

When I was allowed bread, it had to be toasted. otherwise it knots up and may get stuck. Although don't be so anxious to try it. I find that it fills you up too much and too fast. You need to concentrate on Protein first, then veggies, then starches if you have room, and if you are like me, you won't have room. I don't even want or eat bread anymore at all, and I too was anxious for that day. Don't even miss it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
