Only time I spit food out was when I realized my lil tummy was full. N I didn't want pain again. But early on I liked to smell the food. I only eat good quality foods now they r satisfying where junk food isn't. Omg. Love sharing a steak n shrimp dinner. love the taste n smell of fresh seasonings mmmmmm

I did this several times when I was on liquids. I told myself it wasn't a good idea as I didn't want to start something that seemed like a disorder. It helped me a little during the 2 weeks on liquid diet though but I haven't done it since starting foods.

I had made a batch of pumpkin scones for a friend last week - I wanted to make sure they taste okay so I took the smallest one, took one bite and then spit it out.

I was telling my assistant that I did this and she said she had read Dolly Parton's biography years back and apparently Dolly did his as a regular form of "weight loss" - getting the taste of something, but not eating it.

So dolly had an eating disorder? Is that a good thing?

Wasn't saying it was good or bad, just sharing a story related to the topic.

OMG I totally do that .... just wanted to chew something about a week after surgery and it tasted so good but I was soooo scared to hurt my sleeve so I spit it out....... I also did it with a bite of pizza the other day. and I totally get you that its not hunger .....

I think the more you abstain from certain foods (sweets and other carbs), the less you will crave them. It has been quite a few months since i have had sweets and there are zero cravings. Now a good skewer of chicken is what I want at times when I am out and unable to find one...try not to get started on slippery slopes because they can snowball really quickly if they are not kept under control. Speaking from experience here before getting the sleeve...

Dead on. It's proven fact. Sugar is an addictive substance. Plus rises in blood insulin levels increase hunger and cravings, particularly for high glucose foods (starches).

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
