Boob job after lapband?

Recommended Posts

Hey,

I am scheduled on Nov 10th for breast augmentation..and was wondering has anyone else done this? Was wondering how the surgery compares and if one is more difficult to recover from? I did awesome with the lapband..somehow I think the boob job will be worse. Does anyone know?

It's certainly a different kind of sensation, that's for sure! The recovery will be longer than for lap band and you will probably feel a lot like a stuffed sausage until your skin stretches to accomodate the implants. There will be some limitation on driving for and lifting for a time, so you don't stretch your chest muscles. Just as we tell all lap band newbies -"follow the instructions from your surgeon." They are quite knowledgeable about what works to produce the best results. Here's a link that might answer some of your questions.

Good luck and won't you be pleased when all is said and done?

First off, let me say congratulations on your awesome weight loss. Next, what type of boob job are you having? Are you getting a reduction, enlargement, or just having the girls lifted? I think that makes a big difference in the recovery time. About 20 years ago, I had a reduction, and to me that was more painful than my lapband surgery. But, then again that was 20 years ago and I am sure they have come a long way since then. I definitely plan on having the girls perked up once I reach my goal. Good luck!

Great job on your weightloss, you're stats are amazing! I hope to be there soon myself :girl_hug:

I had implants and a crescent lift about two years ago (at around 200lbs). I'm not sure exactly what you're having done, but I will say that my banding was a walk in the park in comparison. The day following my aug. surgery was probably the most pain I've ever felt, BUT it got exponentially less painful after that point. I'm not meaning to scare you, that's just my honest experience and everyone can be different.

All that being said, I'm still thrilled with the results and would do it again in a heart beat (and I may need too after reaching goal!) Congratulations on doing this for yourself, you're going to be very very happy. Feel free to reply or PM me if you have any other questions or would like pics.

Good luck!

Hey everyone...thanks for the replies.

I am getting implants. I am currently 36 A and I am wanting to go to a full C cup. I am so excited, but really nervous. I did so well with the lap-band it got me cocky thinking I could handle it...but I am getting a little scared. I didn't even take pain medication after my lap-band surgery and was back to work in 2 days. I know that it won't be that easy...but hopefully I won't feel like I am dying. I had a c-section in 2003...and did pretty well with that...so maybe I can handle it. I am a little scared though! Thanks for all the comments! :girl_hug:

I think you'll be fine. Your other experiences have shown you that discomfort doesn't last forever and each time you have had surgery, you've had a beautiful result. Focus on the end result.....:clap2:

I don't mean to scare you but you asked for honest answers about what to expect from breast augmentation...

All I can say is that a C-section, nose job, Tummy Tuck and lab band surgery that I've all had are all a piece of cake compared to having a breast job!

I had it done 10 years ago and it was the most painful thing I have ever gone through! Again, I don't want to scare you but help prepare you for the reality of what you are going to endure. The put the implant under the muscle therefore just by lifting your arms to your chin is like pulling teeth.

Would I do it over again? In a heartbeat! It just was so painful and the recovery was very intense!

Beauty is pain. Everyone has to determine how much of it they are willing to go through to achieve it.

I wish you the best and beautiful breasts!

Well, thanks....and think of me...cause I have already paid my deposit fo I am doing it. wow....pray that the docs give me good drugs!!!

Sorry, but I disagree, my lap-band procedure was way more painful than my boob job. I had implants almost 14 years ago so maybe I just don't remember but I was out at a restaurant the next night and flew home 2 nights after from Utah to CA. I would say, from what I remember, it's about the same or easier.

I had a lift w/aug and a Tummy Tuck together - maybe it was because I had so much pain from my tummy tuck, but I swear I didn't have any problems at all with my breasts! The only problem I had was this one shooting pain in one of my breasts - on another site I found I heard from others who had the same pain - everyone called them "zingers" - the consensus was that sometimes the dr might stitch into a nerve or something, so as the implant settles it can hit. It was a sharp shooting pain that would last for like 45 seconds, but was the only reason I needed pain meds for my breasts. It came very infrequently and stopped after 2 weeks. I do love my breasts now but the scars are still dark and kind of scary! Its nice to have fullness though! Congrats on your great weight loss success & good luck with this upcoming surgery!

MY DAUGHTER HAD IMPLANTS DONE IN APRIL. SHE WENT FROM A 32 MAYBE A LOL TO A 34 D IF NOT A DOUBLE D. OF COURSE SHE'S YOUNG AND ENJOYING EVERY MINUTE HAVING THEM. SHE WASN'T IN THAT MUCH PAIN. I JUST KEPT HER WELL MEDICATED THE FIRST 48 HOURS :notagree

PS, I'M SURE WHAT LITTLE PAIN YOU'LL HAVE WILL NOT COMPARE TO HAVING THEM FOR THE NEXT 25 YEARS :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
