November Sleevesters?

Recommended Posts

I had my sleeve on 11/29/12.

Check out my progress in the 1st news story at the hyper link below, concerning the census collector for Statistics New Zealand. The collector is me! This is my progress report for the sleeve class of November 2012.

http://news.msn.co.n...a3-5c763774d85b

I couldn't done this without my sleeve and with the 75 lbs. that I have now lost. I also need the support of friends like you, who I have met in this support chat room. Thanks!

Checking in with my November friends! How's everyone doing? Besides my hair really thinning out, everything has been going great. Wanted to also share w/ everyone that I have been finding awesome work out clothes everywhere! I've found stuff at Old Navy, Victoria Secret and GAP. My new favorite is GAP that has lulu lemon style for more than 1/2 off what lulu charges. Below is a pic of an outfit I just got (30% off this weekend). Also....cut 10 inches of hair off. I figure the people on Biggest Loser get makeovers, why can't I? :) Happy 4 months all!

Hi Everyone! Gosh I feel like a surgery failure!! I'm only down 47 lbs since my surgery on 11/15 and I have followed EVERYTHING to the letter. Not one deviation, not one miss on anything. It's so frustrating. I've been consistently losing, but it's a pound this week, half a pound another week etc... I'm so frustrated with it all to be honest! I see everyone losing massive amounts of weight and here I am plugging along I don't feel like I'm ever going to make goal. All doc says is yeah, it's slow but thats ok... UM no, it's not ok.. I lost faster with Medifast 2 years ago! By the 4 month mark I was down over 55 lbs!

Oh well, I guess better down then up right?

Does anyone else notice that the way they are losing is weird? I have lost all the inches/weight in my legs, butt and upper body, but my waist is still not losing as fast so it makes buying/wearing pants a challenge. this has never happened to me before, I've always lost equally. SO, while I can get into a size 12 petite slacks/jeans, they fit great everywhere, but are snug in the waist. If I wear the 14s I look like I'm in clown pants they are soooo huge on me, but the waist though loose still is managable. It's crazy. Never had this happen before. A friend of mine who had the surgery (and is now a size 4 grr... LOL but she was only 140 when she had the revision so I can't compare) said her friends are having the same thing happening with their losses. Weird! LOL

I Understand how you feel. My surgery was November 20 I'm only down 57 pounds and I feel like I've done every single thing right. I can get into 1416 pants but just like you it's tight in my waist for My stomach is not going down as fast as my butt and my hips and my thighs and legs my neck and upper area is good also feels pretty defeating. I guess we just keep plugging away my doctor told me that if you have the lap asleep revision it's slower than a person that house just the revision

Hi all: I can sympathize with some of the frustrations with the weight loss. I have list 43 from Nov 1 and at at a size 12. I have about 40 more to go. I feel great and people say I look great so that is always nice to hear. I think if we look at it from the big picture, most of us are four months in. We have all lost weight which is a huge accomplishment. We all could be at our starting weights or possible even heavier if we hadn't had it done so that is the big upside. At this point I think are bodies are pretty used to eating smaller amounts and our metabolisms have slowed down. My goal this past week after being at 199 for nearly a month is to get the fires stoked again through exercise. We need to throw that metabolism off balance and moving is the only way to do it. We didn't get here overnight so let's all be patient with the process and keep up the awesome work . Love my November Sleever forum family and think of you all often.

Wow you guys are doing great! I still feel like a failure on this you guys are the same as me. I was 219.5 day of surgery and I'm 5'1 1/2 or 5'2 depending on who measures me... today I'm only 172... I'm so frustrated it's not even funny. I do everything I'm supposed to... ugh.. my goal is still another 47 lbs away, I feel like I'm never going to get there...

I don't feel like a failure at all I have seen a lot of people with similar stats lose at this pace. I knew from the beginning I was not going to lose 20lbs a month as I was not anywhere near the 300lbs or more some of the others were starting at.looking at the big picture I can see I am over halfway to goal which is way better than having stayed fat which is where I would have been without my sleeve. The scale is moving in the right direction and that is all I can ask for :)

I'm the slowest of them ALL kids, so don't feel upset!! I was 229 DOS }(11/19) and now am 195. I eat healthier and smaller portions than I ever have in my life but due to a crazy work schedule I don't exercise at all any more. I do enjoy a treat now and then (had ice cream for the 1st time the other night since before surgery, and I really didn't love it!!) and I don't exercise as I'm exhausted when I get home. I know this has a lot to do with it but I'm not unhappy where I am. I plan to start exercising soon - I'm hoping when the warmer weather arrives I'll be inspred. My heaviest in my adult life after having my last child 7 years ago was 263, so it's been a 68 lb weight loss overall.

Slow and steady wins the race. :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
