I just got my approval last Wednesday and my surgery is October 30th. This will be my first surgery ever and I'm excited about it but then scared to death. The thought of me lying on the gurney knowing they gonna inject me with something to knock me out is the scariest part for me.

I already had my date of Nov 28 but then just a few minutes ago got an e-mail with the time of surgery 9:30, somehow that made it so real. Says it will take 70 min. (too real). Yours is only one week away. Did you have do a pre-op diet? Best of luck and keep us informed on how you are doing.

Don't worry about that! When you arrive at hospital you'll get your I-V. I had to get on the surgery table myself (since surgery is 'elective' -weird!) Anyway. They asked me to put my arms out on each side, put a warm blanket on me. A few questions...next thing it's 1:30 pm (surgery was at 9:00 am) and I'm trying to wake up from anesthesia. You'll doze on and off a bit. Then you'll be bought to your room. Done! They don't say, "now we're giving you the good stuff!" they just do it when you're comfortable and ready. They don't even ask you to count backwards any more. Easy-peasy!

No pre op diet except for the day before. I just got a call from a nurse at the hospital they need to do a 20-30 minute intake over the phone it's becoming so real. Well scared or not I'm not gonna let that get in the way I need this surgery.

I need this surgery done ASAP I didn't want to stall it until school break I feel the surgery is more important right now. One of my professors wants me back in a week so I think I'm gonna go to the dean I know that the school must have some sort of allowance for medical illness...hopefully

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
