To Weigh Or Not Too Weigh That Is The Question

Recommended Posts

I have been going through this wonderful site for a few weeks now and was wondering why some were weighing themselves weekly/ daily? Is this required by the doctor? scales have not been very good to me and I would only weigh myself if I had to. I wonder when I have my sleeve revision done shortly if once a month would be enough?

Elizabeth :-))))

I get excited about the weight loss, so I like to weigh more often. It encourages me to stay on the plan:)

I weigh my self once a week, and again on the 21 of every month, since i had surgery on the 21 i like to keep track of how much i lose over all every month. It is not required by my doctor, i just enjoy seeing every pound i lose. I also like to kind watch for stalls or if i gain anything so that i know if i need to watch my portions or add more exercise.

Thanks for replying I just feel so negative when there is no weight Loss on the scales however someone once told me if you go to the supermarket and look at a 1lb block lard every pound lost looks like that of your body it makes me think more positive. :-)))

Good idea Squisha I suppose I just have the negative vibes from the crap band I have in at present and not only do I need to get my food head back in shape I also need to be less negative about weighing myself.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
