When Can You Start Bike Riding?

My surgeon says we can do anything as soon as we feel up to it. He doesn't like to give timelines for returning to physical activity but obviously you have to use your head. No fighting through the pain no matter how tough you are. Only do what you can do.

I won't be hitting any mountain bike trails soon but I have the road bike all ready to go.

Thanks. That's how I've felt the past couple of years. In mountain biking anyone over 200 pounds is considered to be a clyde, short for clydesdale as in the horse. Not a lot of bikes that are clyde friendly given the abuse that mountain bikes take.

Tell me about it...the bike in my avitar is a Surly Ogre. Great clyde-friendly bike, as long as you build or invest in some good wheels. Do you ever venture over to bikeforums.net? They have a pretty good clydesdale/athena forum.

I usually go to MTBR.com. I'll check out bikeforums.net though. I love the Ogre. It's a great bike. I ride a Jamis Dragon and a Santa Cruz Heckler on the trails for the exact same reasons.

I rode my bike to work yesterday and again today. I gained 2 lbs over night. I have a scale at work and weight myself in the morning I know it's horrible to weigh in everyday but its my only current addiction
