Was In A Car Accident, On Friday And My Stomach Is Not Happy!

Recommended Posts

So I was in a car accident, on Friday, I am fine just some bumps and bruises! The car is not but hey I'm here to tell the story!

I had a ct scan and X-rays, to make sure that my stomach was okay and it was no leaks, or internal bleeding, I have a bruise from seatbelt that starts from the neck all down the right side of my body and then across my stomach! I look like a Christmas tree with all these colors from the bruising!

I was just wondering if anyone has some input, it seems like have completely lost my appetite, and finding it hard to consume Water, I'm forcing myself to drink cause I have too, but I'm thinking its just swelling g! What do you fellow sleepers think! I found today I ate a little more then I have in the last coue days but still not like it was!

I've made sure there's no leaks and no bleeding! Just want to hear some feedback!

Thanks!

Thank God you are ok! I'm only 6 weeks out and haven't experienced any type of trauma post surgery but you do bring up a very scary potential situation. I've wondered how long it takes until the stomach is completely healed. How far are you post-op?

I am 3 months post- op! It's the first thing I told my ER nurse! It's funny though how many people have never heard of this operation! Yes I am so very thankful I am okay!

I'm going to to see if maybe my doctor has a cancellation as I can't get into see him till Monday, and I really don't like going into ER as I'm a nurse to and they say we make the worst PTs

I had an accident like that pre-surgery, with all the soft tissue injuries in the abdomen. Even with a normal stomach I felt sick and had a hard time eating for a little while, so I would say it's just a matter of time and taking it very easy. Glad you didn't get worse injuries, hope you feel better quickly!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
