What Foods Cant You Eat?

Recommended Posts

The foods I have found that I cannot eat are:

*eggs - not even scrambled

*Bananas - all other fruit has been ok

*Turkey

*Potatoes of any kind

*Cake - That sucks for people's bday but it is kind of a blessing cuz shouldn't eat it anyway.

*I love salads and have been able to eat them ok but no croutons!

*chicken is ok if not breaded...I have to use knife and fork to cut small pieces. If I try to just take a bite like normal, I will get to big of piece every time!

Can any of you drink while eating? I know we aren't suppose to but sometimes it would just be nice to get a little swallow of liquid during the meal. I can't do it even if I want to.

That is one of those unpleasant suprises you'll just have to experience for yourself. It makes its way back up and...

I'm like Eileen (NJchick) I can eat pretty much anything. After a meeting I tried a bite of DH's donut...nope! So far, that and really dry chicken breast is about all that is on my No No list. I had to push my luck, so tried a cake type donut later, and it was fine. it is the raised yeasty donuts I cannot do.

The amount of anything I eat is diminished to fractions of what I used to eat, but I can still eat pretty much anything.

This thread is making me depressed!

The thought of not eating fruit, salads and chicken which are my mainstays is almost too much to take. I hope I am lucky and can eventually eat these things. I am so interested in the Portion Control that this tool will give me, but without my healthy foods like the previously mentioned, I will be at a loss as to what to eat. I guess we have to be able to sacrifice in order to get to goal. I am fine with no Pasta, bread, rice, sugar, and "junk", but the chicken? veggies?fruit? ugh. I am sure I will adapt, it just seems daunting right now!

Everyone is different....not just tighter or looser, but DIFFERENT. I can eat ground beef or prime rib or sausage or crisp bacon. Chicken is difficult sometimes. Forget fruit. And don't substitute fruit juice...it's just flavored sugar Water. I can't eat potatoes, but Beans are great (not green Beans, though). I don't get many veggies down because of the "protein first" rule. A little bit of Protein and I'm pretty much done. One small bowl of thick, chunky Soup is a really good meal for me. I get a lot of my veggies that way, since they are cooked to mush.

You're right....you will adapt. A couple of years ago, I might have been planning on chicken and dumplings for lunch. Today I am making meatballs in "wine" sauce (it's actually made from chili sauce and grape jelly, but it looks/tastes like a red wine sauce). I can eat about 5 small meatballs. They are a good source of Protein and they taste great.

i can't eat dry chicken breast. Green Beans are not good either. Last night I tried a taste of salad with dressing and it went down OK. Bananas that are not ripe enough don't do well...they need to be Ripe and preferably mashed, with a bit of milk and a dash of vanilla extract and a tad of stevia sweetner it becomes dessert! Yumm! I have not been filled yet, so I am not sure what will happen then... I am waiting until maybe January to be filled because I have still so many days when I feel I am restricted.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
