Whole Or Egg Whites

Recommended Posts

What is everyone's thoughts on egg whites versus whole egg? I'll be started them next week (can't wait!) & would appreciate any feedback. Is is wrong to not use the egg whites only? Thanks so much...

I prefer egg whites. That's where the Protein is, and has less calories and fat. I buy only the egg whites. I use real eggs if I'm in the mood for scrambled eggs, but lately I prefer egg white omlets with turkey sausage crumbles and cheese.< /p>

I like the yolk more, but kept hearing that the white has all the Protein. My nutritionist even said it. I checked it and turns out the whole egg has seven Proteins with the white having more than four and the yolk having more than two. The yolk also has most of the nutritional value and, yes, more fat. Because I can only eat half an egg, I decided the yolk was still my preference.

I use them both - whites when I am making it to go with something, whole when I am just nukeing some eggs.< /p>

I initially after surgery ate the whole egg. But then it turned out that I enjoy eating eggs - and there is a lot of cholesterol in egg yolks. I have eggs for Breakfast and dinner frequently - and have thus changed to egg whites. I thought you would have to pay me serious money to eat egg whites and it turn out I can barely tell the difference.

I have eggs about once a week, usually on the weekend. My sleeve likes about 2 large eggs with yolk, some feta cheese and perhaps a little diced veggies. On the side I have one or two maple turkey sausage links. My sleeve tells me when it is full. If I have left over egg, my dog is standing by...

Sounds like a big meal for a sleeve! There is hope for normalcy as long as I am losing!

1-2 scrambled eggs is just about right for me with 1-2 turkey sausages. If it is to much, I have a cute smiley furry friend next to me waiting for hand outs. Who can resist that big grin!

Love it! I am a doggie mommy as well. They are scrap hounds as well

I like both, but I really like the egg beaters southwest style (it has little bits of red and green pepper in it) with some sauteed onions and 2 TBSP. of low fat shredded mexican cheese. Regular egg beaters are too bland for me. :)

This sounds just like my Breakfast every day, but instead of sausage, I put a little fajita meat to chopped up grilled chicken into the eggs omelette style, along with some chopped up bell peppers, onions, mushrooms....whatever I got. But I had to give up the eggs in favor of egg beaters because my calories were getting up there. I don't mind a bit though. Less cholesterol and less fat.

I vote for the egg beaters also as they are convenient and I do watch my cholesterol. I just add 1/4 cup and some shredded cheese in the Nordic microwave egg cooker then 1 minute later it is done. Add a turkey sausage and viola a egg mcmuffin minus the muffin.

I don't know when I reached Onederland but just weighed myself @198. 😁

Constantly amazing myself. This is probably a normal experience for all of us on a WL journey.
This morning I was at 174 pounds (78.9 kilos). I can perceive that my brain hasn't really caught up to this yet, as I still feel obese, even though I am close to being considered a normal weight, not even overweight. The smaller clothes, the higher fitness level, the great blood work results, the energy- these all tell me a totally different story!
I have NEVER EVER been, never, not once in my life, nada, zip, zilch, zero times, been "thin." I think this explains some of the disconnect between the reality of my body and the stuckness of my brain. I do have confidence that my mind will catch up soon ❤️
Not really having the experience of true hunger yet, but I can perceive the peristalsis of my digestive tract. And I am getting very good at spotting head hunger, and simply noticing it, like a Buddhist.

I ordered the Barbecue Protein Crisps here from BariatricPal, and find them quite tasty. The Ranch flavour, not so much. They are very filing and have a satisfying crunch.
I continue to shrink, and am amazed at the changes all over my body. Visually, it is striking to me. In the mirror, I look thin to my eyes, but I don't feel thin, although I can see more bones and veins and tendons and floppy skin. Cardio-wise, It takes a lot more effort to get my heart rate up and I'm now monitoring which heart zone I can get into and for how long. My resting heart rate is the lowest it's ever been.
If I think about it, and I left myself feel it for a time, I weep (like, boohoo cry) with joy. I am so grateful to myself, and proud of myself for having the courage to have taken the leap to better health.
