Recommended Posts

Hello every1, Im David here in Dallas. new to the site been browsing around. I have my consult with Nick Nicholson on the 12th im self pay. I went to the seminar a couple months ago. Im excited to get this done kinda nervous and been debating on this or band. im thinking the sleeve will be the best option. I have been the big kid/guy all my life and im ready for a change.

As you will read on this site, there are a lot of reversion from the band to the sleeve. I researched for over a year. Today is one month and I am down 28 pounds. I am off medication already and life is much easier weighing almost 30 pounds less:) Good luck to you!

My consult is this fri. A friend of mine had his sleeve done and they highly recomended him. I went to the seminar they provide a few months ago and they were really nice and very informative. There staff was really nice when i called and talked to them to set the consult up. Im hoping i dont have to do any test with me being self pay. Deff interested to hear how the consult goes?

I am sorry. I've lost track of the date, obviously. I will post here after the visit.

Have been really busy since my consultation and haven't had an opportunity to post since then. The meeting went great but was shorter than I expected. That isn't a complaint, only an observation. I went to the Plano office. I could have set my surgery date much sooner than I did but travel obligations dictated that I wait until near the end of November. My surgery date is Tuesday, November 27. I took a list of questions but got caught up in the conversation and neglected to ask a couple of important ones. I am going to call the office today and ask the staff for some answers. I found everyone to be very pleasant and informative. They are all very knowledgeable about the procedures Dr. Nickelson performs. How was your experience at Forest Park? Have you made a decision yet about which procedure you feel would be best for you?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
