7 Days Post Op And I Am Down......

Recommended Posts

12 pounds!!! Now that's according to my scale at home...so tomorrow when I go to my first post op appointment I will find out for sure. But people are already telling me that they are noticing a change. So my total now from pre op and post op is 35 pounds. I am really happy so far with the way this is going. My pain is very minimal now. I just feel really itchy like all over my stomach...probably because its healing. I still am not able to eat much. Im still on my new direction Meal Replacement products from the weight management center I go and we are suppose to be doing 3 to 4 products a day and I can get in about 1 that's all. Is that normal for this early post op?

Congrats on your wl. I was sleeved 9/19 and I too have people making comments such as that. I was not believing until a friend of mine that is almost two years postop said its true they do see a difference I just don't. She suggested I do a photo diary. Take a me pic every week. Yes it is normal to not being able to get in all they say you should. Just from my own experience get you 64ox of Fluid and as much Protein as you can. Good luck and much continued success.

Congrats on your success, I am kinda itchy too I agree it's because of healing. 2 week post op visit in two days, so far my home scale indicates 17 lbs since surgery. I was surprised at how hard it can be to get the Protein requirements, some days I can only get in 40 grams or so when they are asking me to do a min of 60 grams. But I am up to 32 oz a day in Water for the most part. I purchased some fruity drinks(Bariatric Choice) to mix with water, they give an additional 15 grams of protein and that helps get the protein and the water at the same time. Good luck.

Omg I was soooo itchy!! It gets better! I'm 3 weeks out, down 27 lbs. post op plus another 20 pre op... I'm almost 50 pounds down! I LOVE my sleeve! It's frustrating not being able to eat what I want, but I just remind myself, if I was eating what I wanted, then I would not be down 47 lbs!!!! Best wishes! Stay up on your water!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!!!!! Enjoy all the success. I was sleeved on 9/24 and I'm down 25ibs. I am also having a problem with the Protein portion of meals. Hopefully, things will get better with time. I go to my first post op appointment next Monday. Hope be down another 10ibs. I have so much to Celebrate, just finished nursing school and the surgery. That's why Newme is my handle. I hope everyone is embracing this new chapter in their lives.

Why does Water taste so different to me? It tastes like dirt! I haven't been getting enough Fluid and I know I'm dehydrated. I'm 6 days post op. how much fluid can y'all drink at a time? This is way harder than I thought it would be. I feel like I'm so tired and after I get up and shower I feel like I need a nap! I probably going to get an IV so I can get fluids to rehydrate - anyone else having these problems??

Thank you all for your well wishes! Sorry for the delay in replying. I have been studying for my nursing exam. It has been almost 4 months since my surgery and I have lost a total of 72 lbs. It has not been an easy road. I still am unable to drink Water without something in it and food is stiil a everyday challenge. There are still so many things I'm unable to tolerate. I will say, If I had o do it all over again, I would in a heart beat. It has been years since I fit into a XL shirt and I love it. I need to consume more food daily, but my doctor stated everyones tolerance to food is different. Good luck everyone and keep up the good work. Remember, the weight didn;t come so easy, so it going to be a challenge to take it off and keep it off.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
