Drinking Red Wine

I'm not planning on drinking now by any means. I am just wondering if red wine is ok to drink every once in a while, a while out? How long did you wait to even try?

I drink a glass of wine or beer 2-3 times per week. No problems! I started at 4 months out :-)

I have an occasional wine and it is fine for me. Everyone seems to react differently.

I waited 8 weeks to have some wine. I have a couple of glasses once or twice a week. In fact, I had some on Saturday night and was still down a pound a half on Monday morning. :)

Alcohol is empty calories, but I do imbibe weekly. Red wine doesn't taste that great to me any more though :-(. Merlot Used to be my favorite. Now Pinot grigio goes down well. I just include it in my daily calorie carb count to make sure I don't go overboard. Also wine and different alcohols can be dehydrators so drink lots of water. I drink one extra glass of water per glass of wine. A few weeks ago, I had a margarita made with almond tequila. Oh my gosh it was good, but then I looked up the calories and about had a heart attack -- something like 600 calories! Not doing that again for a very long time if ever.

I just love my red wine. I'm sure you can drink others Barisexylady. My favorite is Rioja, then Malbec, Red Zinfiandel, and Pinot Nior. Chardonnay when eating fish. Ice wine or Moscato d'asti as dessert wines. I'm planning on waiting for at least 3 months out to drink anything, maybe 6 just to lose as much as possible within those months! Thank you everyone for the help!

I drink 4 oz red wine every night before bed. Got my cholesterol down to 133 (from high 200's) so something is helping.

I personally HATE the taste of alcohol and drink this concord grape stuff that is like Welches Grape juice with a shot of Everclear in it :) It's sickly sweet but I down it in a few slugs. I've been told that this stuff doesn't have all the goodies a more regular dry red wine does but I can't stomach the other stuff.

I waited about 10 weeks. Now u have the occasional glass of wine with dinner. Typically I only drink about half the glass, but it maes me feel normal. I still stay under my calorie targets easily.
