September 14, 201213 yr I do believe I shall hate going to the show after my sleeve! Popcorn is my favorite thing ever!
September 14, 201213 yr I have popcorn at the movies ... Just not as much and only after being at goal. This is not the end of our lives ... it is the new beginning.
September 14, 201213 yr Orville has a smart pop kettle corn that's 100 cals per (mini) bag...and it's really yummy! I smuggle my little baggie in and eat my treat just like all of the other movie-goers! :-) You've just got to find what works for you!
September 14, 201213 yr You have no food limits with a sleeve after you've advanced to the proper post stage diet. Have some popcorn! just don't load it down with as much butter and salt. Its now a life of controlled moderation...not forced misery. Remember that
September 14, 201213 yr This is not the end of our lives ... it is the new beginning. i love that statement my life has started over and i'm enjoying every minute btw - i have also had a small bag of popcorn at the movies, no butter,um um good
September 15, 201213 yr Popcorn and pretzel nuggets with jalapeno cheese sauce! I figure I'll be able to eat two of those, and be stuffed..which is ok, as long as I'm satisfied.
September 16, 201213 yr Trader joes has a light kennel corn in small portion bags that are actually pretty big! The bags are 120 calories per serving and I could only eat 1/2 and it hit the sack! Try it! It's yummy!
September 16, 201213 yr Oh thank goodness I didn't think I could have any at all!! I thought the same thing. Glad I was wrong CoolBreeze
September 16, 201213 yr I say go enjoy ... Moderation is key ... Just watch your carbs the rest of the day!
September 16, 201213 yr Oh my gosh, I was such a popcorn addict before surgery. I was especially drawn to the white cheddar varieties, but also loved theatre popcorn. It was probably my greatest weakness. Since surgery, I have not had any but oh do I remember. It does not seem to bother me to go to the movies where my sense of smell is now super heightened. Nor does it bother me to watch others eat it. I guess all it took was to break the habit in the name of not wanting to hurt the sleeve. Will I ever go back to eating popcorn? I am not sure. It could be both a slider and a weakness for me so it is best to just stay away if I cannot handle moderation. I was a serious glutton around the white cheddar variety before surgery, sometimes inhaling a full family size bag in one sitting. And then feeling incredibly guilty afterwards....
September 17, 201213 yr Popcorn is definitely a slider. But I go to the movies so rarely that I just have my popcorn and don't worry about it. K
September 17, 201213 yr I went to the movies on Saturday night and was looking forward to popcorn but the cues were so damn long.
September 17, 201213 yr Just sat through a movie yesterday while my husband had buttered popcorn. It almost killed me but not one kernel touched these lips. Maybe when I hit goal.....
September 19, 201213 yr My NUT just told me yesterday popcorn was one of the best snacks you can eat after being sleeved cuz it's full of fiber. I used ro eat a bag of microwave movie theater popcorn everynight before I went to bed! Now I keep the small bags of Smart Pop and every once in awhile make one, but can't eat much at all!
I do believe I shall hate going to the show after my sleeve! Popcorn is my favorite thing ever!
