How Much You've Lost

When you say I'm down x amount of pounds - are you referring to your weight since surgery, or your highest "known" weight? When I say I'm down x number of pounds, I'm always referring to being down from my highest weight. I don't even really remember what my actual weight was on surgery day.

My highest weight that I know of was 262 in June/July. I had my surgery July 30th. I'm 6 weeks out, and I'm now 223lbs. So I say I'm down 39 pounds. I think I lost about 10 or 12 pounds on the pre-op diet (2 week liquid diet). But I consider it all part of my weight loss.

How do you refer to it?

Yes I am. I am having a hard time even reaching 600 calories a day. That is a real stretch because trying to drink all the time, I'm just too full.

Dont get discouraged...I read on anothe post that when it takes a while to lose weight that it is a good sign. Our bodies are rearranging things so you will see inches drop and less loose skin. I keep this in mind for myself too! I seem to be losing slowly as well but I am still losing...yay!!

Thanks! I did walk right out of my pants today, much to my childrens horror lol! I just wish the scale would drop the same way!

Forget the pounds, watch the inches!

I understand..you guzzle liquids all day then you have to try to get actual food in too..it's really hard. Yeah, like the others suggested about inches..I would take measurements,,I'll bet you are losing inches. I'm a slow loser too and I usually have to do something different and drastic to make the numbers budge. Hang in there,,it'll happen!

I just use the my weight from the day of surgery. That way I know what is from the sleeve vs other things. I am down 24lbs from my surgery date. Sleeved on 9/4.

How much have I lost???? NOT ENOUGH!!!

In approximately 2.5 months, I have lost a whopping (sarcasm) 30lbs from my surgical weight. Yeah, I've lost a lot of inches, and getting rid of lots of too-big clothes. But what about the pounds???

i say celebrate every single pound you have lost! And this isn't a race! If we start to compare with one another we are doomed - at least I am. I started my journey at 397. I am now at 311. That is my journey - and the surgery was a part of that. YEAH FOR EVERY OUNCE!!!

Pre op weight 375. Day of surgery 4-24-12 370

Today 9-16-12 259 pounds.

I understand what you are saying, and I have said the same thing to others. Sometimes, the frustration takes hold, and the pity party begins. I am grateful fro the 30lbs, and the inches lost. But boy, it is so damn hard to come here and read how someone has lost 3x the weight you have in the same amount of time!

Yes, I am happy for those who have dropped lost of pounds, and on their way to goal. It is inspiring. But am am flawed enough to admit to being a teensy bit jealous!

I am starting a 2-week Protein diet (and one food meal) to hopefully get out of this one month stall. Congrats to all the losers!

You look great! Love the thumbs up! Confidence is such a big part of this new life.

I was 298 preop. 285 on surgery day and now 264. I am 19 days out.
