I was told no soda for six weeks after surgery. I had a band for six years, so I'm used to not having soda. So even though my Dr allows it, I don't drink it.

I drink slurpees every now and then it kills my cravings for soda and I'm doing fine :)

I wouldn't touch it, it's a trigger food for me!

7-up is what got me here, so I am staying clear of all sodas. But i have to say, 7-up is the only thing I've craved since starting this whole process (pre-op & up to now.).

I drink 2-3 Seltzer waters a day and at least 2-5 sodas per week. Sometimes diet, sometimes regular. No problems here, maintaining weight loss with ease

Was soda a problem for you before your surgery? I can easily see me becoming addicted to it again, so I just need to stay away from it. :). We all had our comfort foods, and that sure was mine!

Just unflavored ice - people really like their ice I guess!

Just Ice! I have a hard time drinking more than am ounce or so- and the ice balls there are small- and I love to crunch on them. No flavor needed, just hydration and crunch! :)

The ice at sonic is amazing. The closest thing it can be compared to is hospital ice. The best kind for chewing!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
