Recommended Posts

Just checking in to see how everyone is feeling...hope you are all having a speedy recovery!! For me each day has been better and today I actually got dressed and went for a ride with my husband for awhile...it was nice to get off the couch :) Nothing really taste good but I think that maybe a good thing.

Hi, I was sleeved the same day as u and I have lost 60 lbs. two weeks ago I went to a dinner celebration and found out I can eat more food than I have been, about 1 cup, but worst of all I found out I don't have the dumping syndrome, I had a half a piece of cake.

I am back to eating my 1/2 cup mostly, maybe 3/4 cup sometimes. Unfortunately I have started eating skinny cow icecreams and not just one in a day. I am losing my discipline, I think cause I feel and look so much better I am secretly satisfied but I still way 220, have you had any experiences like this?

Hi and yes I have had that somewhat...the more my diet increased like new foods being added the easier it is too get off track. I really have to stick to a schedule and also plan my meals for the whole day the night before so that I am not tempted. 60 # is great so don't lose sight of the big rewards. Right now I am losing very slowly and it is very discouraging but I just joined a bootcamp at the gym for the next 4 weeks so hopefully that help to get the weight coming off again :)

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
