Had Anyone Had To Use Lovenox?

Recommended Posts

I had to inject 1x daily for 10 days, as a blood clot prevention as well.

I used it for 3 weeks after surgery. I also used it for 7 months twice a day during pregnancy. Some tips that I learned the hard way.....wait until the alcohol is completely dry.....insert needle quickly (less pain)......push plunger in very very very very slowly (decreases bruising), and do not rub the site at all. It was really no big deal for me, but if takes a little bit to get used to injecting yourself. Good luck!

I had to do a few shots prior to surgery. I let my four-year-old daughter do the last one. She loved it. I then pretended it gave me superpowers and had a fun day playing with her before getting cut open and not being able to lift her for six weeks.

So, yes.

I have to use heparin and did so during both pregnancies due to a blood clot. Not the most in but doable. I think they r just giving me some before surgery and after.

I'm just wondering if they r Doin this because you all had blood clots or is this typical?

I'm having surgery Friday and due to a pulmonary embolus I had 10 yrs I will have to do the lovenox as well...but survival rate for a repeat pulmonary embolus patient is rare, so I'm all about some shots! It gets old and your stomach gets sore.

It is typical for my surgeons office. I was not at any risk.

Oh ok...I've heard of them making it a common practice to give lovenox just prior to surgery but not a month after unless you are at risk...guess better to be safe than sorry though...I know you will be glad to be done!

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
