Hello Sleevers...well today I'm 7days post op and im feeling great. My follow up appt with surgeon is tomorrow. I have been taking my Vitamins regularly and meds when needed. I do not have much stomach pain anymore. I'm happy about that. I don't have much of an appetitie and when I do eat its only a lil bowl of creamy Soup using my 2yrs old's toddler bowl. Lol. I get full really quick. I am trying to keep up with my liquids. Its so difficult because I want to gulp it down but I can't lol. As far as the Protein shakes....I haven't really been drinking them. They are disgusting and they give me horrible gas lol. I'm sure my doctor will go over my diet with me again but right now the crystal light, Water, creamy Soups, applesauce, sf Jello, and sf pudding works fine for me. I did try a piece of a french fry and a hamburger pattie(both the size of my fingernail) but I had no desire for it. Yay!!!! How are u guys doing? Sending happy thoughts and prayers to everyone:-)

Good for you, glad to hear you are doing well. I would get the Protein in tho, very important. I know they are mostly nasty ones but keep trying till you find one you like.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
