Ok, ok...minus being winded u sound like ur mending well. Glad to hear. I go in Thursday.

Less than a week to go (6 days but who's counting?!) and I am wound up, y'all! I feel like I'm on fast forward. A healthy mixture of nerves and unbridled excitement, I suppose!

Thank goodness my surgeon doesn't require a pre-op diet; I'd be hot mess for sure!

Just planning on taking yoga pants and flip flops to the hospital on Monday, along with a hair brush, Chapstick and deodorant. Anything else?

Praying for you

They had told me to have the tests at least 10 days out so if it was positive they could give me the medicine. I hope that is enough time. The weird thing is that I had called the surgeon's office this morning and they said everything was good. My PCP is the one who called me. I read that some people have to wait a couple of months after testing positive. I am kind of freaking right now.

It's so funny you say that. Same thing happened to me. Originally the doctor who did my endoscopy said all was good. Then a week later my surgeons office called to see how far along I was on the Prev PAC. I was like "Prev PAC? What's that?" They were SHOCKED that the doctor who did my endoscopy never called me to tell me that I had a bacterial infection. And my surgeons office then gave me the Prev PAC.

Don't panic. It will all work out.

I've got 2 more sleeps and then it's my turn on the 12th. I'm starting to get a little bit nervous now. I went for my pre-op assessment on monday and the nurse said if I haven't lost any weight then the surgeon won't operate. But she didn't say since when! Now the last time they weighed me before Monday was back in April and since then I've gained abt 3kgs. (Lots of stress at work with 3 work mates getting life threateningly ill plus I wasn't really trying to be good then). If she means since April, I might not get my surgery. If they mean since I started the pre-op diet, how will they know? I'd been on it 4 days before I got weighed. (I don't own any scales).

Maybe she was just trying to scare me into staying on the diet, which I have done anyway. Maybe they mean between the assessment and the surgery. Who knows?! I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best. There's no way I haven't lost any weight on a less than 800 calorie per day diet.
