October Sleevers! Announce Yourselves

Recommended Posts

Its day 10 for me and I can honestly say things have gotten alot better!!! Just came back from getting a massage and I can tell a big difference in the gas pains in my chest and shoulder. I have fibromyalgia so this surgery sent me into one big flare up.

Also, take the pain meds that the doctors prescribe!!!! Don't try and tough it out!! They really help.

Best of luck and Blessings to all of you !!

This is my second day at home after surgery on Monday. The gas pains yesterday were terrible, but I took two 45 min or so walks outside as well as some inside and I feel much, much better today. The bloated feeling is down. I have started drinking in 3 oz plastic mouthwash cups which helps me remember to slow down with sips. Harder than I thought. Pain wise much improved. Took one dose of liquid lortab and a gas x strip today. I am not very tired yet. Glad I have two weeks off. Today I swallow my meds slowly. I do have prevacid, another capsule and two b/p pills. My surgeon said ok, but I am still worried. Prevacid meltaways are $600 a month. So, no thank you. :)

I am attracted to some foods post op that I have no business thinking about. Starting to see what head hunger is post op is all about.

At this point, looking at Fluid intake, some exercise and a lot of rest.

Happy to be on the other side.

I am 5 lbs down since Monday.

I'm just 6 hours away from setting off for the hospital. Tomorrow is D Day. Or Sleeve Day. I'm planning on staying awake tonight as I don't fancy getting up at 4am. I can sleep all weekend! I'm starting to wonder if they'll put mine off because I've been hit by a cold. It's not full on yet but it's trying. I'm doing what I can to nip it in the bud but I think I'm fighting a losing battle. All I can think is sneezing is gonna hurt like hell over the next few days!

Hey guys! I'm doing so good! I was sleeved on oct.3 I would say the first 3 days are rough but today I actually went to the mall & went shopping for about 2 hours. Now my back was hurting pretty bad but my stomach doesn't. I even took a bath last night & tonight. Just Water right under my belly button but it felt so nice! Wasn't hard to get out either... There is no pain or discomfort in my stomach anymore. Protein is so hard getting in! Water isn't that bad. Any advice on Protein? Or things to eat?

Try the special k water. That has protein in it.

Just wanted to check in with you all. I was sleeved on Oct 9th. I was extremely nervous headed into it and was pretty much wandering around with all kinds of scattered thoughts running through my head. The surgery itself went great and the surgeon even told my husband I would most likely go home the following day. However, I learned that I don't tolerate pain well at all and had a miserable first night. When the surgeon's RN came in the following morning, I was in tears telling him this was the biggest mistake of my life. He was truly wonderful with me and shared his personal WLS journey and the emotions that come with it. By the middle of my second post op day I was up walking the halls and sipping chicken broth. I came home today. The pain is still pretty bad but I am controlling it with the meds. My new tummy gurgles a lot! Anyone else have this new feature? I hope everyone is doing well. Thanks for reading my post.

Well bad news, no sleeve for me now or ever! No bypass either. My band had eroded into my stomach. Took 2 hours to get out. Dr had to call in a gastro specialist to help. I'm very upset right now. But the doctor said he saved my life. I know all things work together for those who love The Lord. I hate I will never be part of the losers bench. Much success to all you guys. I have enjoyed getting to know you all.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
