It's a slippery slope. Sometimes it only takes the first "stray" and then you "give yourself permission", since you've already blown it........

Most important thing to remember is even if you go off track, the next thing you put in your mouth is totally up to you! You have the ability and control to get right back on track. One slip doesn't mean the day is lost........you can make good choices after a bad one!

Learn from this and you'll do better next time. None of us are perfect, believe me. The most important thing is to do your best and not beat yourself up when you slip. Just to use it as a way to improve for next time and feel good about learning a lesson.

what went wrong ?

new grandmother

you are human - your weakness to eating food came out. :(

you are not the 1rst/or last to have this weakness show its ugly head prior to WLS - sometimes after surgery too :(

we love eating food

we all must change our eating habits, once we have the sleeve - we need to change the way we look and deal with food

The sleeve is a tool that assists us - but we need to work on our poor eating habits.

all eating problems must be dealt with - for the rest of our lives ;)

enjoy your new best friend the sleeve - take care of it - and it will take care of you :)

good luck with WLS

speedy recovery

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
