All these approvals are making me so anxious. I just wanna get things rolling and do this already :). Have my first apt with the surgeon august 29 and I also already scheduled my pulmanologist August 31. Baby steps baby steps.

I just can't wait to write that thread that I'm approved!

This site has been so helpful already I'm so glad I found it!

On another note I do get all nervous and think things like "oh thanksgiving and Christmas are coming, what am I going to eat if I'm sleeves by then". My hubs finally smacked me (not really) and just stated the obvious. He said one day I will be able to eat those things again just a very small portion. He also said eating like that put me in this position and he is so right!

I know the first few weeks will be rough but I can do it!

Happy Saturday everyone.

Everytime I learn of a restriction - like no caffeine or carbonates beverages it took me a couple days to accept it and then it seemed okay when I realized everything I would gain- a new life. You will get through the Holidays as there is much going on besides food. I am scheduled for surgery in 9 days and know this Thanksgiving/Christmas will be different and I am so thankful. Just try to focusing on the long term gains- that really helps me take each step in this journey.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
