Yeah sisters are wierd. I have 2 sisters. One is super supportive (and she weighs over 400 lbs) and the other (about 250lbs ) is really not supportive at all.

Kind of crazy. I mean I spoke to my sister (non supportive) 2 days ago an she never even asks how I am doing. But I am supposed to care about her cough that won't go away!

Geez.

What's a girl to do... know lose weight and look fabulous... yep I will try that I think!!

Hi Everyone,

went for a small fill on thursday, cuz i was starting to be able to eat more. Well....what a dumbass am I? Dr. Mumford tried to talk me out of it, but being a Smarty Pants, i told him that i had driven 4 hours to see him couldn't he puleeeze put some in?

So he put in 2.5mls.

I am dying, i have written my will. Its awful. Swallowing spit hurts. I'm forcing myself to sip warm fluids cuz i'm terrrified of getting dehydrated.

I left a msg on the clinics phone, and will call again right at 9 tomorrow when they open.

I hope like hell they tell me to drive down right away! I don't care who takes the Fluid out...dr., his nurse, the bldg janitor, anyone!:think

Just out of curiosity, how did you feel RIGHT after? Seem like everything was fine? How long till you realized "this is not good!!"?

Oh, I thought about that too.

I'm sure they'll let you come down. There's gotta be someone there at all times who can do a fill/defill. Do you have the emerg. # for Dr. Mumford? I'm sure you could have called that this weekend... too late now, you might as well wait til the morning. I'd leave early and be there WHEN they open!! :)

They have an emergency number. Dr M would call you back anytime, he could let ya know if you could get an unfil tomorrow. I know I tried the ER line right after surgery when I was in sooo much pain.

Ooooo poor neenaugh, I hope you can get some relief soon.

Just curious though, if he wasn't very keen on the fill, why give you as much as 1.5??? or was that what you wanted???:phanvan

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
