I'm 11 days post-op and the only thing I have tried is sugar free jello. I was told not to eat until day 14 like you... I never wanted scrambled eggs so bad in my life. I'm not really hungry, I just m

  • Do you find that you just get pissed at everyone who is eating?? It's not that I want what they have, but I just want to grab my husband's plate and throw it at his head while I'm sipping on the same

5 day post-op' date=' you'll probably think I'm crazy but I have a baby tsp of scramble eggs yesterday. Then all my family got together and they ordered pizza for the kids. I got a lil slice and would chew the heck out of it, then spit it out!!! Pizza never tastes so good. I'm done with the protien drinks and Jello :( does anyone know what would happen if we did eat a piece of food down our throats? Good luck :)[/quote']

Yes I think ur crazy and playing w fire

Go State, I'm just jealous that's all. They are a staple in the Carolina's also. I just miss them. :(

Hello friends!! I don't want to be a Debbie downer, but stick to your liquids for now!! Trust me I know it's a pain but it will get easier. Have broth it's the best. I still love it being 2amd a half months out. Liquids are the bessstttt option right now. You do not want to go to fast into eating something you shouldn't and get sick. Trust me it's no fun.

Try some watered down grits. I did at 10 days. It helped me feel more full & satisfied. My friends doctor put her on this at day 8. So I did it at day 10. Made me feel so much better. Eat it very slow & do not over eat. I put some Splenda in it. At day 14 I added a small amount of smashed up banana.

Geechee, I hope you get to have some grits really soon!

I love love this thread. I had my surgery on Aug 1. I'm suppose to start soft foods 3 weeks out. I can relate everyone that has posted something. I too get angry when I fix my kids food or when we go out to eat. I have been nibbling on small pieces of protien just because I can't handle it! I am new to this forum. Does anyone know of a support group that had their surgery the first of Aug? Thanks!

My doc has purred day 3 protein only for 9 weeks no veggies till then then no starches for 5 months

I am appalled that people are allowed to have surgery without information. The place I went to had six months of taking classes, attending support groups and reviewing then signing off on information sheets. I wondered why the death across the country is so high but not one at the place I go to and now I know. Come on people, you are responsible for your own success. Why did you do this to begin with? Yes, it's hard but it's temporary. Every day is better than the last. You can do it if you try. It's ok to feel like you feel but it's not ok to put your life in danger for a bite. Think about how crazy that is.

Hedi look at August servers where are ya on this site

VST Addict...lol...I'm a little lost...but think finding the way! Thanks!

I'm an addict too! LOL. No one else to talk with about all this! You will do fine. Like all the Nuts say, forgive yourself, start over and keep going. Dont let one slip derail the whole train!

I had surgery on July 27. I was given purees in the hospital, and was on them for 2 weeks. Now I'm eating "soft food" which basically means no really fibrous things, only really well cooked veggies, canned fruit, or veggies. For dinner tonight I had turkey meatloaf and like 2 pieces of green beans. It's crazy to me how different the plans are, but I'm following mine to the letter, so I'm ok with that.
