  1. I was sleeved July 27th, and, including preop, I'm down 46 pounds. I feel like this was a miracle. I'm out of plus sized clothes, have tons of energy, have no food intolerances, and feel great. I started running again last week and am slowly but surely feeling like my old self. I'm eating 700-800 calories per day, and upwards of 80 grams of Protein. I've started adding veggies and fruits, and have been trying to have some veggies at least every day. It's tough. I don't have a hard time getting my protein in, but I do have to work at it.

    Dead Taste Buds

I was sleeved at the same time as you and was told to stop crushing my meds after the first month. Maybe that will make a difference. I can't stand the crushed meds.
  3. I start and end my day with 8oz of water. That really helps me mentally to know I only have to fit 6 cups in throughout the day. I'm either eating or drinking all day long, nit seems. Honestly my biggest struggle is vitamins. I have to take with food in order to not get sick, but I also need to drink water after for the same reason. Vitamins have been my biggest struggle post op.
  4. I had surgery on July 27. I was given purees in the hospital, and was on them for 2 weeks. Now I'm eating "soft food" which basically means no really fibrous things, only really well cooked veggies, canned fruit, or veggies. For dinner tonight I had turkey meatloaf and like 2 pieces of green beans. It's crazy to me how different the plans are, but I'm following mine to the letter, so I'm ok with that.

    Coffee Protein Drink

I do hot protein coffee. One scoop of protein powder mixed with a little bit of cold milk (1/8 cup or so), and mix until it is smooth adding more milk as needed. Then slowly pour hot coffee in to the mix while stirring constantly. Works great and I love the comforting feeling of my warm cup of coffee in the morning.

    July Sleevers

I was sleeved on July 27. Prior to my preop diet I weighed 249 pounds. Today I weigh 227. I'm amazed with the feeling that real, sustained weight loss may actually be possible! I'm on purees, and have been hitting my Protein goals, but falling short on fluids. I am really going to focus on that today. I finally started to feel a little hungry yesterday. It was a nice change from feeling like I never wanted to eat again. I still have some significant pain, but am trying to wean myself off of pain medicine. I'm gaining more strength every day. I plan on going back to work a week from Monday, and I do a significant amount of walking at work, so I've been walking (slowly) on the treadmill each day. And, I have a job interview on Tuesday! Crazy timing, but I'm hoping I can be off the pain medicine in time, have more strength for sitting up in a chair, and the stamina to be "up" for it.

Baby Food ? What Time Of Protein Shakes?

So far plain Greek yogurt with a little crystal light is sitting well. I've also had retried beans with melted cheese and scrambled eggs with melted cheese. I cannot eat enough to get to my protein goals, so protein shakes are a must.
  8. Fruit juice. I also savored one last sprite. It was delicious.

    Post-Op Diets

My post op diet is 2 weeks of purees, 2-3 weeks of soft foods, and then regular diet. It is amazing the differences!

    Was June, Now July

I'm scheduled for July 27th too! Glad to have a sleeve buddy!
  13. I am excited and nervous to have my sleeve on Friday. Im so glad to be done with my pre-op diet, but super proud of myself for how well I've done. It really gives my confidence as I get ready to embark on this journey. I had a bit of a strange experience today. So, not only am I a bariatric patient, but I'm also the administrator of a surgery department which includes a bariatric surgery program. Essentially, the program coordinator and nurses are my employees, and I work very closely with my surgeon on program development, operations, and marketing. One of the reasons I'm having this surgery is because I have spent 20% of my professional life over the last two years focusing on how to make my bariatric surgery program better. So, anyways today I was in a meeting with the surgeon who will be operating on me on Friday talking about business operations. He was giving me this whole list of things that he thought needed to be done, and I had to remind him that I would be out after the surgery he'll be performing on me on Friday! It is definitely helping my nerves because my surgeon knows me, I know his outcomes, and would recommend him go anyone. I joked it's him when I left that I was a little nervous, but assumed he wouldn't kill me. He replied that he thinks he can manage that! I can't wait for this to be over and to be on the other side!

  16. Congrats!!! I'm also having this surgery with the hope of having a successful IVF pregnancy after. Also scheduled 7/27. I'm a mom to an awesome baby through adoption and I'd love to give her a sibling. So happy to hear a success story!
  17. Congrats! Can't wait to join you at the end of the month!
  18. I ordered the injury sample packet and I tried the unflavored in crystal light and found it was DISGUSTING!!!
  19. Talk to her pediatrician. I don't think you need to necessarily get her to lose weight but just to stop gaining and build healthy habits like the previous posters said. If she can do that, as she grows up she'll grow into her weight. I think it is also important to help her develop a positive body image regardless of what she weighs. I remember thinking I was so fat as a kid and when I look at pictures I realize I was fairly normal sized. But I think it really screwed with my head.
