Love this thread. I have 9 days to go until soft food and I'm dying already lol!! Can't even start Protein til Monday.

Wow they wanted me on protein immediately

Me too, Pattivalvo!

I was not on protein until I came home. I was in the hospital for 4 days.

Wow I'm shocked you were in the hospital for four days. where there any complications?

I haven't been drinking very many protein shakes. My doctor says if you have to choose then drink your water. I'm totally done with the shakes. I will drink protein chicken broth before I have another one.

I was on full liquids the day I came home. Surgery was Aug 2. I'm suppose to start soft foods on the 15th. I've had protein shakes, cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, tomato soup, French onion soup (broth only), water, crystal light, apple juice, unsweetened tea, and I've had no problems so far. I too am so ready for a scrambled egg haha!! I've even had half of a string cheese. I just chewed it til it was like a liquid in my mouth.

They started me with protein in the hospital and made sure that I had my 60 ounces before they sent me home. I was only in for 24 hours.

I was scheduled for only 3 days including the same of the surgery. But then they said I was not drinking enough and wanted to keep me another day because I had to start getting enough liquid in. :( It was ok though I did not mind too much because I was being taken care of and monitored an extra day.

Do you find that you just get pissed at everyone who is eating?? It's not that I want what they have, but I just want to grab my husband's plate and throw it at his head while I'm sipping on the same protein shake that I have had every day for 11 days! Bring on the flipping eggs!

Sorry ladies. Hate to break it to you. But hitting the mushy food stage doesn't mean no more shakes. I thought that to but there is just no way you can achieve your Protein intake with mushy food alone as your portion sizes are really really small. It is nice to incorporate some food with those shakes though :)

I'm 12 days out. I am eating refried beans, mashed potatoes, grits, fruit popsicles (no sugar added), apple sauce, sugar free yogurt and cream soups. I can have veggy soup, too, if blended up, but haven't tried yet. I feel as if my sleeve is tolerating things very well. I did go out last night and ate 2-3 oz. of frozen yogurt from a local place (25 cal, 5 max carbs/oz). It felt odd at first, but I tolerated it pretty well. Hope you move on from liquids soon!
