Ok.. so.. I'm on my liquid diet now.. not to bad so far... I started on this journey at 249lbs.. i'm down 16lbs to 233 today... thats great for me.. i'm getting more and more excited i only have 11 days till my surgery... I am proud of my will power so far.. and I just know i can do this.. i'm very thankful for all of you who have given me support and advice... Ive got my grocery list ready.. my list of things to purchase before surgery like my Vitamins and gas x strips lol.. and i've got my "what i need to take to the hospital list" ready too.. I'm ready for this.. this is going to be a new chapter of my life.. Im hoping its a much better one.. a healthier one.. and i'm so thankful for the opportunity to "start again"... its going to be a learning process.. guess its a good thing that I like to learn new things..

My surgery is on the 14th and I am ready too! I think a positive outlook on this is what we all need. I like that you said you feel like you get to start again, that explains it perfectly. Good luck to you!

Great attitude ladies! I'm still jumping through insurance hoops hoping for a Nov/Dec date. Show me how it's done!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
