Let's Check In November 2012 Sleevers!

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved November 19th. My weight a week before the surgery was 224. This morning I finally broke 180 with a weight of 179. I feel like the entire month on January I gained and lost the same 3 pounds toggling between 181 and 183. My size 16s are huge on me but I am not buying any new clothes yet. I would have thought that 45 pounds would have led to smaller sizes but I was at old navy this weekend and some 16s were tight. Oh well sizes are only numbers. I still struggle to get my liquids, Vitamins and any food in. I do get around 50 grams of Protein in a day but I feel like that's all I eat. All in all it was a great decision that I wouldn't change although I had no idea how difficult the journey would be.

I went to the gap a couple of weeks ago, I was so happy just to be able to try on regular clothes again!! I bought a size 16 and was so happy especially because they were real jeans not stretchy ones! You weigh less than me! So it really is all over the place with sizing!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
