Another Rant About Husbands/spouses

Recommended Posts

Oh I agree with you. (My response was mainly to someone else -- if you were even posting that for my benefit.)

I'd like to have my non-destroyed body back some day. But I'm just not sure it will ever be worth it to me. And I don't mean financially. I mean - risk, results (umm lots of ppl who had plastics look kinda butchered...), recovery, etc.

I tell you, I am scared to death of plastics and while I don't have lesions, the pannus pulls on my back and the skin is slightly irritated and during the summer, sweaty. I would wear two pants sizes smaller without it. I cannot imagine having it halfway or even to my knees like I have seen.

See, the boobs are deflated. Plastics would make them nice and perky, but I'm not even considering. My batwings are weird, but again, not up for consideration. The upper inner thigh? Nope. I can't do a bikini, but board shorts are fine.

I'm not sure a hip to hip scar is worth it. Eh, we'll see.

Thank you Catracks and Wheetsin for your input, I appreciate any input from senior, successful sleevers.

I know this is a public forum and when I put it out there I'm gonna get input from all kinds of people and their opinions. However, with that being said, did that girl really say I shouldn't have had surgery if I can't handle saggy titties? Really? Has she even had surgery yet? And if she hasn't then she shouldn't have surgery, and be happy being fat.

Sorry had to get that out

No, the real question is who actually says "titties"?! ;)

My pannus is there, but not like a sailcloth. It ends ABOVE my err... girl area. But it's also not completely deflated yet. I don't get lesions there, honestly, because I swipe it with deodorant. If I didn't, I would. My bellybutton is causing me major problems. I can seriously take a qtip, stick the whole thing into my bellybutton, and never touch the end. It's like a freaking bottomless pit. Lately it's been prone to irritation and I'm guessing some kind of yeast infection or something because - "TMI" - if a freaking qtip can't get to the end of it, how the heck can I keep it completely clean? A turkey baster?!

I'd love to have plastics. I have the means to have plastics. But it's scary. Kudos to anyone with the cajones to go through with it. The other angle...

I'd probably have a tattoo by now, except every bit of line that was crooked or not exactly what I envisioned would bother me. Honestly, lots of people who have plastics are so freaking lopsided or indented or whatever. Granted, I look like a damn used rubber full of quarters. But I'm proportionately & evenly gross. I don't know how I'd react to something like one hip being higher than the other, and some weird indentation on my thigh, etc.

And really, I just don't like pain very much. :)

Honestly if you can't handle the saggy titties & saggy skin maybe you shouldn't have gotten the WLS. Here is my theory' date=' I mean go ahead if you want but people part of this road of losing weight you are suppose to learn how to love yourself! How is that loving yourself if you keep losing weight and keep wanting other procedures? What's after a Tummy Tuck and breasts? A face lift? Arm lift? Thigh lift? People be happy that you are finally healthy and those around you love you for who you are..[/quote']

If she want to do something to make her happy then she should. And you have to be careful not to judge people

Last night while I was getting a bath' date=' me and husband were talking. I was telling him how once I reach goal, and maintain for awhile ( which is quite a ways away as I still have 72lbs to loose to get to goal) I want a boob job and a Tummy Tuck. Out of no where my husband starts ranting about how he doesn't want me to have those surgeries because of the "risk". I was like, where was that concern while I was getting my stomach cut up like Frankenstein ? He said that was a medical necessity for me, then went on to guilt trip me about how would he explain to Cole, my 5 year old, if something happen to me while having plastic surgery? And that he's happy with me the way I am. I told him its not about him, it's about how I feel about myself, and I don't want boobs hanging down to my belly button or flabby belly if I make it to goal and if I maintain. After much heated discussion, because since my surgery I'm a total hot head , he admitted its his own insecurities that doesn't want mr having plastics.

Personally I don't get it, I love my husband, he had loved me at almost 300lbs. I feel I'm going to love him no matter what happens. This is something I want, it's hard to think about going against something he wants because he gives me everything I want, and is sooo good to me. This whole incident is totally out of character for him.

I'm always saying I think my sleeve is making me crazy, cause of my out there mood swings, looks like its rubbing off on him.[/quote']

read my story. i will not have a voluntary surgery again until ds is over 15 buy a pushup bra your baby needs you and u could easily end up like me

I plan on having the same two procedures if I need them and if my parter didn't like it, well it wouldn't stop me. I can kind of relate though, I noticed he started saying things like he hopes I don't run off with someone else after my surgery, as if I ever would. Then he says he is just joking. I know it's his insecurities showing but I have confidence that things will all work out.

I'm sure once he saw the sexy new you he wouldn't mind hahah

My lil sis had breast implants, I thought she was already stunning, but apparently very small breasts (or certain types of them) can be classed as a medical issue. She got back some money from Medicare (Aussie) for her surgery.

I was a massive b*ch to her about it, mostly because I was terrified of the surgery and that she might have medical issues after.

But now she's safe, I'm ok with it, really it's not my decision at all, I'm not sure if it's her partners decision either since she paid for it all herself.

I think it's an issue that needs some consideration and compromise and conversations (back and forth, agree and disagree).

My partner jokes he would leave me if I ever got a tattoo. Sure it's my body but he has to look at it- and I'd be pretty grossed out if he got one either...

Personal decisions don't let haters get you down :D

I think this is an unfair comment, You can love yourself but still want to improve it. What's wrong with plastic surgery if it improves ones self esteem. Ive heard this statement from friends when I got my breasts done, I knew she wanted to have hers done but couldn't afford it, she then put me down for it.

Did you have wls or are you just commenting on others?

I love your response. I originally had lap and surgery over almost 3 years ago. It was a failure and 2 weeks ago I was sleeved. With any surgery you run the risk of complications.

I have told my husband many times that in the future after maintaining goal weight I want to have plastic surgery. After my recent stint in the hospital with complications my thoughts are different. Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
