I'm nearly 6 weeks post op and I have always been a Water drinker. 6 to 8 glasses per day and it's always been water in - water out. Since surgery, I still drink 60-80oz per day but I've noticed that I don't urinate nearly as much as I used to and when I do, it's darker than you would expect from drinking so much. It used to be pretty much clear and now it's a darker yellow. Has this happened to anyone else?

I've had this issue too... been wondering what's up. If I remember correctly, I think we may have had the same date. (6/25?) When I was in the hospital I had problems peeing and sat in the bathroom for an hour at times and couldn't produce anything but still felt the urge. The doctor wasn't too concerned. It's not as bad now but I'm only going 2-3 times a day now instead of my normal 4-5 and yes, it's much darker. I feel like I've been doing pretty well on my Water intake also. Maybe not 64oz, but getting close to it. And I wasn't a water drinker before, maybe had 30-40oz a day and drank lots of soda. Water is about the only think I drink now and I usually don't even flavor it with anything anymore.

I've been wondering this myself! I'm drinking a lot more Water than I used to, but yet it still comes out darker than when I was drinking soda all the time! Hope someone has an explanation for it.

I guess then this must be the new "normal" for us? I was sleeved the same day as you were and I suppose there are a lot of changes we'll go through as a result of this procedure. Thanks a bunch for replying!

I've been telling myself that the darker color is associated with the amount of fat and toxins my body is burning and excreting?

More Protein you take in can make your urine darker you have protein markers in it normally so we intake a lot more protein and a lot less other stuff so we have more protein in our urine which makes it darker.

That’s what I was told anyway lol

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
