Ive Cheated Every Day

Recommended Posts

At 23 you are an adult and were mature enough to do your research. I just pointed out a pattern of immaturity regarding nutrition and decision making which at 18-20 appears to seriously lacking. Whoever their surgeons are it appears they did not do their due diligence for their patient.

I agree. I saw some videos on YT from some surgeon's office and he had operated on 10 and 12 year olds. Um...I have to seriously question the feasability and rationale behind that. What are they going to do when they become adults that are out of their parent's house? What type of psych evaluation and counseling could they have possibly had to prepare them for such an undertaking at that age?

I had a terrible time with my pre-op diet which was three weeks of liquids and Protein bars. I did loose 10 pounds, but I should have doubled that. My doctor said that in surgery he could tell me liver was still enlarged. I would talk to your doctor, but I spent hours hating myself because I didn't complete the perfect pre-op diet. I have lost 20 pounds in the first 10 days post-op, I'd say that was successful!

Someone told me that pre-op was like a train travelling at 100 MPH and crashing.....it was a devistating mistake. Post-op was like a train travelling 10 MPH, still a hitch, but the mistakes are far smaller and you are able to make small corrections to stay on track.

I refuse to engage in the age debate, because really I think anyone can handle this procedure if you are prepared. Why wouldn't you want to he healthy for the rest of your life?!

Best of luck! Even if you decide to postpone surgery this is only a minor hiccup. I hated the pre-op diet because if I could have successfully dieted before surgery I wouldn't have been 290 pounds!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
