From what I've read about Biggest Loser they work out hours every day. It does not sound like a healthy thing to me.

I'm sorry to hear about your plantar fascitis. I have foot pain too (Although I imagine yours is probably worse) and it can make standing unbearable at times. Everyone's ideas so far sound really good. I know I always enjoy swimming and can always do it no matter how my feet are feeling.

I've been to the biggest loser ranch, twice. They have changed their program a lot since they first started. Yes you do work out....a lot !!!! Lol but they have also incorporated many other programs that help with the mental aspect of weight loss. They truly have some fantastic caring and motivating people there. I even made some lifelong friends while at the ranch. Although I have now chosen the option of getting sleeved to help in my weight loss journey I never received one ounce of negativity from any of them. I really though I was going to get a lot of " you are just taking the easy way out" & " you should be able to do this on your own" etc. but they are all supportive and just want whats best for me. Biggest Loser does push you hard but only because they know that we are all capable if so much more, they just showed me the way and now it's my job to run with it!

That is really neat I had no ideal. Was it hard to get in? Was it real expensive?

Its a great experience! No it isnt hard to get in, you just have to pay, lol. Its a full week of working out and eating healthy, but its all about getting you out of your comfort zone and showing you what you are capable of. So often we limit ourselves because of our own fears. Let me tell you, I did things there that I never thought I could do. Like run at 7.0 on the treadmill. When I started I was only running at a 4.5 maybe 5 max. You go on amazing hikes in some of the most beautiful country anywhere. And the instructors there are some of the most caring people Ive ever met. If you want to google it you can find out what their prices are right now, they do have specials from time to time. Its not cheap but its so worth it. Even after I get sleeved and lose the wieght I want i will still go back. I love it there.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
