it's probably that you are lactose intolerant...most women are and it could be the dairy from Starbucks that is causing your distress...also, tannic acid (found in nature and used to color almost all beverages) can be hard on your stomach....try soy products - that might do the trick for you!

Could be that you are lactose intolerant and the dairy products from Starbucks are causing the issue...try soy based products.

Also, tannic acids are found in almost all colored beverages (wines, coffee, tea, colas). They are a natural product produced by trees....I think oak...this is also why some people have a stuffy nose reaction to some wines - you might have an allergy that could be causing this for you....worth checking out.

Babs- So sorry to hear about the slip/prolapse! What did the doctor say about corrective action? Maybe you wrote about it on another thread but I've been gone from LBT so long it's hard to catch up with all of my old friends!

so, how do they correct that problem?

Some slips can be corrected by dietary changes---going liquids for a week or so, in an attempt to let the prolapsed stomach portion settle back down into position. If that fails, it is usually surgically repaired laproscopically. They reposition the band and add sutures, to allow new scar tissue to form in order to hold it in place.

Occasionally the slip or prolapse is bad enough or was in a bad position for so long as to cause wear on the stomach itself, and they have to actually remove the band. But most I have read about and the ones I speak with regularly that have had slips or issues with their bands, they were corrected, and have still got their bands in place.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
