Inner Thigh trouble

Recommended Posts

running has toned mine up incredibly, but it IS an area where most women just carry fat, they're always going to be a bit blobby for most people I think.

But running has done INCREDIBLE things for my legs and behind.

what if you're too fat to run though? lol

My doctor advised me actually, to not even walk because it would damage my ankles and knees ( I'm 280, 5'4 )

But, I feel awful when I don't walk, like I'm lazy so I'm trying to do the most I can without really being hard on myself.

Maybe a thigh master? lol

I love Curves. It's a good cardio workout and they have a mchine for every muscle group. Women only, all shapes and sizes. I have inner thigh trouble too. EEK!!!

Oh, for sure its a long term goal, you have to build up to it. But if/when you do, the rewards for the lower half of your body are awesome.

Well, I'm seriously hoping to get to the point of running after I'm banded, there's nothing more I want in the world. :welldoneclap: Congrats on your success tho, you're an inspiration.

As for Curves... I've been seriously thinking about that too. I've been there to do the tour but my friend and I thought "wow, this is too simple" but after reading the thread here on Curves, I'm willing to give it a try.

It's probably harder than it looks.

Exercise does not remove fat from a specific area of the body.

Exercise can only tone muscles in a specific area of the body.

You will remove just as much fat from your thighs by doing biseps curls as you will by using a thigh master.

Lose your weight (and therefor your fat) slowly or the skin will be too large and hang.

If you can't run, then walk. If you can't walk then ride a bike. If you can't do that, do arm exercises. Arm exercises will still help you take of your thigh fat.

Have you heard of fire hydrant- on your hands and knees and then lift one leg at a time....that works really well. Start slow!

or, sit on the edge of the couch with a big rubber ball in between your knees and squeeze....that is easy enough to start!!!

Inner thigh muscles can be targeted by getting a standard kitchen chair, lay on your side, put your top foot on the seat of the chair and then lift the bottom leg until your foot touches the bottom of the chair. Hold your foot there for a few seconds, repeat.

I had to do millions of these when I tore apart my knees playing football....very low stress and anyone can do em.

btw...they hurt like hell after awhile.

There is also the band that you can use. It's like a huge rubber band there are all kinds of things you can do with it at home.

I go to curves 3-4 times a week. I go at my own pace. I skip a few of the machines because of my back. I have done wonderful with it. I've made a lot of friends there and it is a fun time. It is also very imprtant to stretch after. I wish I had stretched my whole life!!!

Good luck.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
