Im down 20lbs since my surgery June 25, 2012. Still no energy and i'm getting in about 70-90 grams of Protein. I feel lazy and just want to veg on the couch lol I have 3 small kids so i'm constantly in demand of taking care of them but get really frustrated cuz i'm so drained. I walk 3.5 miles every other night but that's all I have energy for. Any advice?

Eat cooked veggies. They have good carbs in them. Your body needs carbs.

You had surgery same day as me. I have toddler twins. I had hernia repairs as well and have had complications, so mostly lying around. You are doing so well! Focus on recovery and put the scales away. This is a time to start listening to our bodies, you are tired 2 weeks out from major surgery, rest. :)

Thanks everyone the kids are a lot they are 2, 4, & 5 and keep me on my toes. i'm finding it difficult to have the energy to even take them to the park. I walk my 3.5 miles around 9 pm cuz of the hot weather and it is tough to do but I know if I don't ill have a slower weightloss.

It sounds to me like you're doing great. Keep up with the walking, add in some good carbs like PDXMan suggested and don't let the scale drive you crazy! That's what kids are for! :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
